My pregnant was craving fish and chips on this Friday Night. Decided to try Victory inn and they did not disappoint. There fries are seasoned which I really like, the tartar sauce is homemade which you never see and the Mac and cheese also I homemade and is fantastic. Even tried the pretzel bites and they are exactly what I was hoping for, nothing fancy. Soft, salted pretzels and nacho cheese. The only way it should be. The food arrived relatively quickly, but unfortunately, the wings were overcooked and rubbery—almost impossible to eat. The blue cheese dressing appeared to be a week old and tasted just as bad. On a positive note, the brisket was tender and flavorful, but it was overshadowed by the rest of the meal, which was a complete disappointment.
As for the decor, they still had Christmas decorations up at the end of April. I appreciate a good dive bar, but if you're going to modernize the place and raise prices, the food quality needs to match.
I'm genuinely shocked by how terrible the food was. If I had prepared a meal like this, I would be embarrassed to serve it. The pictures tell the truth—there's absolutely no moisture in the meat. The brisket is dry and overcooked, and so is the pork belly; it's tough to chew. The collard greens definitely lack any character. The mac and cheese and cornbread were the only decent parts of the meal, and that's being generous. I feel like I just wasted $50.

Excellent place, excellent people. Had a little miscommunication ordering tonight and staff turned it around for me in such a positive and friendly way. The owner is an absolute gem.

Haven't been here for ages, very pleased with the food and service plus the building is major upgrade from years ago.
