In the context of everything else happening in the world, it is minor. Life moves on. That said, when you pay a premium price for a premium product, expectations matter. We travelled on three Viking river cruises between November and December 2025: the Elbe, the Rhine Moselle, and the Seine. There is much to commend Viking on. The ships are clean, modern, and stylish. The cabins are well designed. The crew, without exception, were helpful, polite, and genuinely attentive. Operationally, Viking runs a very tight ship. J'étais en train de prendre des photos et d’admirer la vue au château de Versailles, lorsqu’une guide de votre compagnie m’a demandé de m’éloigner. Elle voulait réserver l’endroit pour son groupe. Pourtant, il n’y avait personne : j’étais seule à profiter du paysage. J’ai été surprise d’être soudainement entourée par un grand groupe arrivé derrière moi. C’était l’après-midi du 4 septembre à Versailles. La guide, anglophone, a été très impolie. Je lui ai expliqué que je prenais des photos, mais elle a supposé que j’avais terminé et ne m’a laissé aucune possibilité de continuer. Crummy food. Snotty servers. Poorly planned excursions; staggering amount of time wasted with poorly planned logistics. Overall an overpriced disappointment on nearly every level. And after you see all of this with your own eyes the self aggrandizing from the staff during their little all hands on deck meetings will leave you speechless. Paris, on the other hand is a dream! Do it without a riverboat. We've already made our plans to return to Paris and Rouen via Air France and rail once in Paris. We can't wait!
Day 1 of the Normandy Viking River Cruise has been great. Only issue everyone has been having is getting to Paris to get onboard. Recommend giving yourself an extra day of travel due to airline issues. The state room is very nice and roomy, for a small ship. Recommend knowing where the boat is docked prior to coming, many UBER drivers took an extra 10 minutes finding the location.

This was a beautiful start to our viking cruise, the ship starts docked right by the eiffel tower everything we could need for shopping after traveling internationally(toiletries/makeup/snacks etc. . and the food on the ship was truly better than anything i’ve had in over 20 years in multiple american cities, nothing in the states could compare
