UPDATE Within hours of posting this review, the owner contacted me apologizing for the wait staff reaction to the issue. They said they immediately addressed the wait staff to better address similar issues in the future and also offered a gift certificate to help compensate. Was very satisfied with the owner 's prompt contact and handling of the issue. I told them because of all that they were doing to address this issue and any future issues that we would not give up on them and their business and would visit and try again. In the past, the food service were great. Lately, it seems like it has been going downhill. 3rd time in a row that mozzarella sticks were way undercooked. As I placed my order this 3rd attempt, I highlighted the issue with the mozzarella sticks and requested that they ensure they are cooked thoroughly. Alas, when the food arrived, I instantly tried one and (of course) they were not fully cooked. When the waitress finally came to check on us, I informed her of this and she just said surprisingly 'they 're not? '. No further dialogue. No attempt to correct it. Just walked away and avoided our table. Hence, why she received NO TIP. It 's unfortunate because I often tip 30% 60% depending on service and effort. Even left a nicely worded message on receipt on how to handle this type of sitation. Will NOT be going back again!

Last night was my first-ever visit to Vikings Grille and won't be my last. I ordered their Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. I've ordered this comfort food classic at other restaurants, but hands down what I was served at Vikings is the best EVER. It may sound strange, someone raving about green beans, but they were indeed rave-worthy. And although covered with delicious gravy I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes had been prepared skin-on, which adds flavor and nutrients. The fried steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful, its coating crispy even under the gravy. I don't live in Topeka or visit very often, but if local residents don't vote Vikings Grille as being one of the Top 5 Best Spots in town to enjoy a fine meal at reasonable price I would be very surprised.

Nice restaurant. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The meal was tasty and satisfying enough to feel like my money was well spent. Did I mention it was a late lunchtime. Impressive amount of customers for the hour. There're doing it right. Thanks to the blond manager at the far left front table that was working hard to make sure meals were satisfactory and if people were in need of anything. I liked the way she kinda flowed with it. Never interrupted a meal or something that felt intrusive. She received positive feedback by nods of the head and smiling faces. Worth the long review from a regular guy that doesn't leave reviews. Like EVER!

In recent days, I've been in twice and the food was excellent! The staff are nice and friendly. This place is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The tables are plenty far apart so you don't feel crowded, they aren't trying to squeeze everyone in that they possibly can. Easy to move around.

Bring your appetite for the Barbarian burger. It's a masterpiece of messy deliciousness. The service was fantastic and the sports televisions are viewable from any angle. Definitely give them a try!
