It's a dive. A fun one, at that. We pulled into the Castleton Boat Club to take our masts down before continuing up to Champlain. The gracious folk at the boat club don't serve dinner, and suggested we take a short walk up the hill. (Watch for trains at the crossing. They come in hot, and ready for mayhem. One person has already lost his life challenging one this year. This is a good, old-school family bar and grill. (A Gin Mill, Tavern, Bucket O' Blood, or what have you. The bar food is cheap. and filling if you're hungry. It certainly won't get a Michelin star any time soon, but everything was fresh and tasty, and reasonably priced. Very good homemade slaw. This is a fantastic local bar! In addition to a great selection of drinks, they serve food and have tables available if you'd prefer not to sit at the bar. There's a jukebox for music, a space to dance, and even a pool table. The two bartenders I encountered were really friendly, making the experience even better.
I absolutely love this place! The food is fantastic, and the owner is incredibly handsome. I enjoy seeing him and savoring his delicious dishes! Plus, my dog is totally obsessed with him too!
Nice hometown watering hole with a frighteningly close view of the Empire Express Amtrak and the Hudson River. Parking is limited but the beers are cold and the service is spirited.

This is the neighborhood bar. They offer affordable beer, decent food, and a pool table. It's cash only, but there’s an ATM on-site. I highly recommend trying the patty melt!
The owner Jan is very personal next to the cook usually! So the mushroom soup is one of a kind delicious the portions are right the food is heart-shaped fresh!
Great place to relax after work! Drinks and food are homemade and very reasonably priced. Excellent service with a very down to earth atmosphere!
Wonderful old style warmth and flavor. Owner has been there 40 years and he is just a really nice person.
