Clare, your Barista is one of the most experienced in Western Australia, and the premises is all newly fitted. It used to be the Army Salvage place where I bought socks n stuff. Anyhow I like the new shop better. The coffee is for coffee lovers-how lucky are you ? A new machine (bows before it) and the chef really knows his stuff. It's early days yet and needs you to flavor the place, try the food, suggest different things. You make me feel like a natural...wait...no I'm a guy...where was I....oh...
A low key cafe with a great vibe, headed by the very experienced Claire who has run some great places around town. The coffee is very, very good, service is pleasant, and the decor is simple but relaxing. Situated in the Mt Hawthorn end of Oxford St, opposite Yelo and Budburst, with inside tables for 2 or more, a few high tables, an open kitchen, and seating on Oxford St, which is sunny in the morning and shaded later. The breakfast menu is compact, but the eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms had real flavour, and the Bread in Common bread is a joy.I would love to see them licensed so it can be an intimate local bar with quality food.
I recently had lunch at Violet Banks and had a fabulous experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the chai latte. Despite some negative reviews about the service, I personally appreciated the calm and quiet atmosphere without disruptive children, crying babies, or strollers. It's refreshing to find a cafe that caters to adults looking for a peaceful dining experience rather than just moms and babies. We've been here twice - first finding it as it's very near our doctor's surgery and had just opened. We enjoyed it so much we drove their specially the next Sunday just for brunch. The owners clearly have a passion for coffee and food. The coffee is top notch and made with care. The food is a mixture of homemade and quality artisan products such as the bread-in-common sour dough. You can see the chef working in the open kitchen and the food is simple but excellent.
I have been a loyal customer of this charming cafe since it first opened. The service from Clare and her staff has always been fantastic, and the food is delicious. The interior of the cafe is cozy and intimate, perfect for enjoying a peaceful moment with a coffee and newspaper. There is also a covered outdoor area that can accommodate larger groups. This cafe has a relaxed atmosphere that sets it apart from others I have visited.
I have been a regular at Violet Banks since they opened, and I enjoy the peaceful atmosphere for reading the paper and savoring the delicious food. Not every place needs to cater to children, and I appreciate that this restaurant is focused on providing a peaceful environment for adults. The food and coffee are both delicious.
