Somewhat conflicted because I know why this place got great reviews for such a long time. It's a homey Italian restaurant... one where the chefs and waiters know the customers. It has that type of a vibe. Food is supposed to be good, which the earlier reviews state. Cocktails are supposed to be good too. It's a deceivingly large restaurant if you include the 2nd floor. I came with my cousins who've been here in the past as it's a family friendly restaurant. However at least from what they attested to the food and drinks didn't hit the same way. Took my fiancé out dinner for our anniversary. The gentle men who got us a waiter was very pleasant as well as the young lady that escorted us upstairs to the dinning area. So far noting to complain about A young girl Sammy I believe her name was who was our waiter came to serve us my woman ordered cheese Tortellini and I ordered a simple spaghetti and meatballs dish. Saturday evening birthday dinner reservations at 6:30pm for 8 people. Arrived at 6:30 and waited for 30 minutes to be seated. The seating was in a private alcove. Attention was given immediately, and our check was opened at 7:06pm. We ordered our drinks at that time along with appetizers. Fortunately, we ordered appetizers and drinks because we couldn’t order our meals until service returned with our appetizers 45 minutes later. By 8:18 PM, we were still waiting for service, as shown in the attached photos. Our meals finally arrived at 8:50 PM, but three of the shrimp dishes were cold, the macaroni was hot, and four other meals were lukewarm. When a staff member asked how our meals were five minutes later, we explained the issues. The manager then came over to apologize, mentioning that it was the busiest Saturday night they had ever experienced and offered to make it up to us with dessert or something special for the birthday girl. While dessert was offered, it was getting late, and we had plans to go home for cake and ice cream, so we declined. After that, there was no further follow-up from the manager or staff... My daughter has wanted to come here for awhile, we came for dinner tonight and I have to say I have mixed emotions. We were seated promptly, waitress came out soon after and took our drinks, I ordered an alcoholic drink which took extremely long.....however I saw about 6-8 staff members around the bar just having a good old time! Finally got my drink and the scallops and bacon appetizer, which was a total fail. They tasted like they were microwaved. There were 6 scallops on the plate, between me and my daughter we ate one.....however the waitress just ignored it ! The food is good, but it’s definitely overpriced for what you receive. The portions are on the smaller side, especially considering the prices. The drinks are fairly priced, though. Previously, a salad was included with your meal, but now it’s available for an extra charge, which seems a bit unreasonable given the significant price increases. We made our reservation through OpenTable, but the menu there appears to be outdated since there's a $7 discrepancy in prices. Additionally, you used to be able to order pizza for dining in, but now it’s only available for takeout. Overall, it's just average, but the ambiance is pleasant.
We had an excellent experience! The food was exceptional, and we received fantastic service from multiple staff members. While it's on the pricier side, that's to be expected, and although there were no specials, the menu had a wide variety of options. We ordered the seafood Gorgonzola, lobster ravioli, fried lobster and scallops, and chicken piccata, along with appetizers of artichokes in lemon cream sauce and bang bang shrimp. This was for a birthday celebration with a party of four adults. The bread was warm and fresh, served with a delicious dipping sauce. We will definitely be returning!
