My wife and I stopped here for the first time this past weekend and were greeted with smiles, hospitality and a unique decor that can keep you busy for hours just exploring. I did not have high expectations for the food as I have constantly found terrible BBQ in the Northeast. Best Hush Puppies I have ever had!!! The ribs and chicken were both very good. I asked for them naked and was pleased that they were not crusted in a rub that was not to my liking. Really enjoyed the spicy BBQ sauce, and I typically hate all BBQ sauce. For desert.........a banana upside down cake that was the most decadent desert I have had in years. We will be back to try other items. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch...
I give this 5 stars for not only is it good food, but everything else makes it great. Is this the best barbecue I've ever had? It's not. It's good, but the ambience, it feels and most importantly, smells like a barbecue restaurant. The wait staff was phenomenal (I wish I could remember our waitress name). We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and they were there in no time. My dinner, the beef brisket sandwich with fries came out the appropriate time after the nachos. I love beef brisket and they have never run out the times I've ordered from here. Fries were thin and well cooked and there were a lot. I love the food and the rest makes me give it 5 stars.
Got a 1/2 chicken meal with collard greens and cornbread, hush puppies, potato salad and brisket, everything was good except the brsiket. Hands down worst brisket ive ever had, it was reminiscent of beef jerky, salty, dry, thinly sliced, and made even worse by just slathering in bbq i presume in hopes to maintain some moisture, this restaurant would be better off removing it as an option. I was expecting fatty juicy brisket, which by the way the half pound was 16 dollars, so not cheap by any means, and i got some weird cross of beef jerky and lunch meat, i couldnt even eat it.
The burnt ends sandwich is more like brisket pieces in sauce. No ends no burnt. It doesn't help that I've just come back from a southern vacation and reveled in BBQ. The sandwich was tasty but not true burnt ends.The beans are sweet and very tasty cowboy beans, and the cornbread was good as was the potato salad.The waitress went above and beyond to accommodate us and our service dogs. I stumbled across this place while working in the area and was amazed by some amazing barbecue. It was so good I went back the next night to try different things. The price was good and the portions were fairly large.
