my sushi place! it is so regrettable that it is currently closed due to this situation, but waka never fails to satisfy me and all that my friend asks for sushi. when I first entered, the visual aesthetics of the restaurant was the first thing that took my attention. I love small town restaurants; they are so original and offer so much personality. I ordered the obstsalat, the classic Californian roll and dumplings. I was satisfied (not surprised yet happy, but quite satisfied) with their trips and lots of food they gave us. the service was very fast, and our waitress gave us a plate of honigtau, chocolate and other small bonbons when we were finished. their entire staff and team were great....

Our goal remains unchanged for sushi, despite the challenges presented by COVID-19. The restaurant has implemented safety measures, such as a Plexiglas stand at the entrance with a food drawer and credit card slot for contactless takeout. Beyond the glass and into the dimly lit restaurant, you can see three sushi chefs working diligently behind the illuminated counter. I was pleased to see that all staff were wearing masks. The sushi is considered the best in the city, but they also offer a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes. My girlfriend and I had dinner in Waka last evening. Ambience and service was great. Our entrees were fine. Maybe it was just us, maybe just Mercury in Retrograde, but we each experienced a physical reaction to our meals. She thinks it might be some GMO product that's used to make the sauces. Who knows. I'm not writing this to punish the restaurant, but to hopefully make the owners aware and to be careful with the ingredients they use to prepare their meals. All of us consumers are looking for an enjoyable experience when we dine out.

We went to Waka Asian Bistro tonight and were extremely pleased with everything. We tried sushi, including a Chilean Sea Bass roll, a bento box (which was so generous that there was plenty left over for lunch tomorrow - honestly, it could easily be shared by two people), and a curry bowl. The online ordering process was quick and efficient, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating. New Management took over 3 months ago..... Have done only takeout since that time but have had no issues with the sashimi. Great wonton soup. The new owners have a full liquor license. Has kind of a cave like vibe. The restaurant is built into a hill so the only windows are in the front of the dining room. The service did decline in quality a lot in the last year of the previous owner. Hopefully the new one will improve that.

This is the best sushi place in town! Don't miss out on trying the crispy rice with spicy tuna, you won't regret it. The dishes are always beautifully presented and are worth every penny. I wish they offered delivery to Bedford Hills, but it's definitely worth the 10-minute drive to Chappaqua.
