After two years of pandemic we returned to Gundelhard after a long hike. It makes fun to sit under the shaded chestnut trees in the Arabian beer garden and strengthen yourself with good Hessian dishes. The menu is smaller than kept in front of the pandemic, but offers something for every taste. Excellent, grounded kitchen with tasty, very well prepared hessian dishes, tidy portions! My table top with roast potatoes and green sauce left nothing to be desired, the strawberry parfait delicious! The highlight is undoubtedly the green sauce, one of the best in Frankfurt. This is very regrettable with the paying customers. I ordered a small carving with pommes (children's carvings), after 15 minutes I was told that I could not have a children's carving because I am growing up. The boss said I could just order a big carving because I'm not a kid anymore! No alternatives have been proposed to me and not again the menu offers. So I got nix.... My friend then has after approx. 1 minute you get to eat (brat potatoes and salad) which was unfortunately not seasoned and very oily. On our bike tour to the bike path 8 of Hesse we have landed in the Waldgasthof Gundelhard. From outside rather inconspicuous but the food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was OK. Unfortunately, it took a little longer until the service arrived but the outdoor area was full and all wanted food too. all right.
We worked 4 times, but it was very cozy and tasty. Both dishes were very common and a palate mouse. The portions large enough, with the pumpkin cream soup being expensive for the price. Very satisfied, also with the friendly service that showed us how to find the restaurant normally.

Warm service and super delicious food. recommend at any time (even for the small wallet). Dogs or dog groups are welcome at any time. It was like on holiday. Thanks to the team. Come back next week and that's gonna be more often.
Oh Boy! What an experience when you see your 30 CM diameter BURGER coming your way and landing in front of your nose! Tasty one fortunately! you really don't know how to deal with it unless gather all your courage to EAT it! :D
After 2 starts and a detailed city tour finally found! Very cozy shop with nice host and his serving woman. The food was really good even if I find roast potatoes without bacon and onions boring.
Ate six tasty goose today. Was excellent! Well seasoned, lovingly served with delicious soup on the way. Very recommended!
