We visited on a summer's night with friends and sat outside in the beautiful garden. There is a nice play area for children with an in-ground trampoline and a low zip-wire - very nice. The complex had been very tastefully redeveloped (I believe in past years it was a garden centre) and the rustic interior (partly open kitchen) has some quirky decorations (one alcove has china cups and saucers glued to the walls and ceiling) and is nicely broken up to provide some privacy.The menu may be seasonal - there were a number of mushroom dishes when we went - but two of the items on the (short, one-page) dinner menu were unavailable (always a bad start). Then the wine we ordered was off - my suspicion is that the wine is good but poorly cellared (just a guess). A second bottle was better but showing signs of having been improperly stored as well.Our meals were good - not great. I would say more attentive to appearance than to taste. It was busy inside (plenty of garden space) so perhaps the kitchen was a bit overworked - we certainly waited a long time (over an hour) between starters and mains.We moved inside for desert and coffees - the coffee was very good but the only sugar offered was white in a canteen-style container - some of us prefer brown or raw sugar and it is nice to have a choice.It's always difficult to tell where problems lie after a single visit, but I would say this is a lovely location with definite room for improvement in service levels and food quality. This is not to fault the staff who served us who were professional and polite. Perhaps a few more and some extras in the kitchen (and a sommelier) would be helpful.
In regards to my previous review I have been stunned this time by the level of food quality and service at this restaurant. We have celebrated my godsons baptism here and everything was done to perfection. The food quality in this restaurant has shown that even in a small town environment a restaurant can and is playing with the metropolitan powerhouses. The venue in the loft is brilliant and features a large glass wine walk-in cupboard, a private bar, a sofa lounge and a satellite kitchen. Came here with family. BBQ ribs came cold to the table and toothpicks are required to remedy its dryness too. The BBQ sausage of my mom was burned and the fish of my kids had no taste what so ever. This restaurant is highly overrated. Service came 3 times to our table with someone else's order. A big drop since my last years visit. Just a sad place. Very beautiful location though with nice garden and kids playground.
