Passable. Qantas had a promotion to go to Walter's River Cafe, and despite poor reviews we decided to go. The location is very pretty and boasted live jazz with river views. If I were a hipster I would argue the restaurant was a little uncomfortable with it's strobe lights, and the whole place would be better if it were updated a little.<br <br The menu was ok, and the initial seating then delivery of drinks swift and happy. The wait staff were polite, but disorganised. We waited for over 30min for our entrees to materialise and I could not see wait staff in sight when I want to purchase another round of drinks. We had lunch at Walter's last week and had a great dining experience. I love the decor, it gives the venue an inviting and relaxing vibe. The menu looked great, is modern and seasonal, seems on par with trends, plenty of options and in my opinion it offers something for everyone. I had the salmon brunch because it interested me to know what this dish was all about, and it was amazing! The coffee was fantastic as well, I also took home a raw chocolate and cherry torte, nice and fresh. What an awesome spot again were going for walk on beach sun was shining and it was warming up ! The park and beach were busy with moms and tots and the odd cyclist sea was blue, sand was white ... what more could we ask for except yummy breakfast. I ordered eggs on toast which is hard to mess up and was good, my hubby had bubble and squeak and enjoyed it and surprise ! my brother had the big brekkie no wonder he has to run every day .. Awesome coffee-and I'm a very fussy coffee lover-so that's saying something. Kate-the new manager here is fabulous! Thank god for a change of management because it's the most stunning location on the River, great for kids, great in all weather-like today a sunny winters day! A real gem with great views and great service-which is usually not the norm in cafés with great outlooks. The food divine. Bread from Barrett's in Nedlands as they are the same business. Walters Cafe. Popped into Walters for a quick bite of lunch on Saturday. My wife and I both had the fish and chips with a glass of wine followed by a delicious slice of lemon tart with our coffees. The fish and chips was the best I 've had in ages, lemon tart had just the right amount of tangyness without being bitter with the best coffee south of the river. Haven 't been to Walters in years but after Saturdays lunch will definately be coming back soon. '
Perfect locale and ambience. Friendly helpful waitstaff, with just the right level of interaction. For two, we only had three starters (chips, warm olive and chorizo, calamari) and a bottle of Prosecco. Everything was delicious and it was the most enjoyable relaxing long lunch experience which left us with a zen feeling. Definitely recommend.
Lunch with visiting interstate politician to showcase our favourite suburb of Fremantle, Kid meals were good and came put quickly , but adults meals were forgotten, twice! Which was pretty lame as it was only half full. Anyhow we werent in a hurry and meals were tasty. Staff need a rocket under them...
Great Food Great staff. Popped in for a quick bite after a walk to Blackwall Reach. The beer battered fish and chips was excellent. The accompanying Wirra Wirra Mrs Wrigley's Rose was delightful.
