Went out for a twilight round on a Sunday. After the unfortunate shutdown last year I was very impressed with the greens and new cart paths. It is not a finished product as there are some patches in the fairways and rough and the shoulders of the cart paths but it is absolutely playable and was an enjoyable round.Hoping this project finds continued success. There will be haters that put the course down because of it's old reputation but with all the money going into this place I for one will keep it in my course rotation because it's one of the closest courses to my home in Westland. The Donald Ross course for just $18 walking? Sign me up! The layout is appealing and well-maintained, and the newly renovated sections of the course are outstanding. Currently, the clubhouse is under construction, so be sure to bring your own snacks. My only minor criticism would be that some of the tee boxes and fairways could use a little care, but considering the extensive renovations, I can't let a few rough patches overshadow the course's overall quality. The course is improving with the ongoing renovations, but there are still many areas that need attention. I enjoy playing here, but the staff struggles with managing tee times between groups. I had a tee time of 6:36 PM, yet there were four groups ahead of me on the front nine and another four waiting to tee off on the back nine, in addition to those already on the course. Honestly, it’s not worth the $24 plus a 3% convenience fee, especially since I didn’t get to finish nine holes—I only managed to play through four while rushing to accommodate the groups behind me. My only regret is that I didn’t go back to request a refund and just leave at that point.
Played 6/6/23, greens are in great shape, quick, roll true, I was amazed. Cart paths look great too! Still a lot of work to do to get this to where management wants it, but you can see them putting the effort in. Fairways and tees still “coming in”, but can see them slowly progressing. Course gets 3 stars, and 1 star for the continuous effort. Only complaint was the carts were pretty dirty. Im eager to come back and play near the end of the season (was told range and practice area should be complete by then) and give this an even better rating. The course is decent, but it’s still undergoing renovations. There’s no liquor or beer available yet. It seems that carts need to be returned by 8:15 sharp, even when there are three holes left to play and it's still light out. We had one ranger telling us to just tee off and finish quickly, while another suggested we play the hole. Then a third ranger came by, instructing us to hit our next shot and then pick up if we were short on time. Overall, the older ranger was quite rude.
Hello. If you are a decent golfer you do not want to play this course. No matter what you hear about renovation, this course is terrible. This is an old person and hacker course. Definitely not worth the price they charge. They could let me play for free and I would pass on the offer. Spend your money somewhere else. I shot 78 so I didn't have a bad round. That's not why I'm telling you this course sucks. Take this course off your list of possibilities. Absolutely Awful!!!
Normally play early in the morning for a quick walking 9 a couple times a week. Greens Greens Greens, these roll really really nice even in the early morning. Cart paths are new, a fun and getable layout. If you don't mind nudging the ball a few inches when you hit a spot that hasn't grown in yet, it's a blast to play. Can't find a puttable surface, let alone this redone Ross design for $15 walking elsewhere. Have paid $25 other places to walk and putt over ant hills.
First time golfing there since reopening. Paid for 18 holes and got booted off the coarse after 12 because of a big group coming in behind us. Management dropped the ball on informing us of the situation. This was my Father's Day outing with my son and son's inlaws that was ruined because of bad Management!

Greens are in good shape, cart path is brand new. Still need to work on the fairways and the tee boxes but it's coming along.
The course looks breathtaking! It just continues to get better.
