I 've been eating my way around here to sniff out the ones that are actually good because I can 't trust some of these yelp reviews. "Chill, I was with my kids and tiny humans have their own tastes. I 'm just happy they let me take them to get sushi. The broth, boo, it was good. I had my first lunch visit here today, and I was really impressed. The service was extremely gracious and friendly. Everything tasted freshly made, although there was a slight wait just before noon. We ordered two rolls and some nigiri. In terms of portion size, both the rolls and nigiri were smaller than what you typically find at other places, and the prices were a bit higher than average for our usual choices, especially considering the smaller roll sizes. So, the price-to-portion ratio felt off. However, the flavors, presentation, and overall service were all excellent.
I never imagined I would order sushi from a food cart, but here I am, and I have ZERO regrets! I decided to skip the trendy sushi doughnuts and went for some classic rolls instead. I tried the Treasure Island Roll and the Hawaiian Roll, and both were incredibly fresh and delicious. Sushi can be pricey, which is something I expect, but with the two rolls I ordered, I ended up feeling very satisfied, so I definitely felt it was worth the money. It was the perfect solution for my sushi craving while visiting Happy Valley, and I would absolutely come back for more!
The food was fresh and the taste was okay. I wasn't impressed by the value I paid for. I ordered the Spider Crunchy and the Spicy Roll. Both were delicious for what they were, but not really what I expected. The spider crispy should have a few fried softshell crabs, but it was very little. The spicy role was good, but was not sharp. While this use to be a favorite spot, the quality has really taken a dive. The caterpillar role that came out was garbage. The rice was dry like it was old and the fill was way out of balance. The california roll was better, but still diminished from past. I used to like them because of the large portions of fresh raw fish, while these two are not those. Hopefully they will be better next time.
We were enticed by the great menu board to try something, wasn’t sure so we tried the SUSHI DONUT! I know go figure, sushi and donuts in the same breath!! However the idea and flavor missed it for us… just bland and no flavor but the presentation was spot on, I definitely think there is something there just need to work on FLAVOR!! But all in all I would go back and try something else!
