I had a ribeye steak … cooked to perfect temp … a tad salty and a tad greasy. But good. (Shoestring type fries …way too greasy … I ate only a couple. Unfortunately this is a case where I feel the restaurant has been overrated by google. The view is certainly breathtaking and the atmosphere is nice but the food I found was mediocre at best. Our husbands seemed to like their meat dishes (especially the pork chop) so perhaps it’s best to order meat here but we found the softshell crab sandwich special was overwhelmed by the panko crusting and was therefore one of the worst softshell crabs I’ve had. It wasn’t awful, it just wasn’t good. The highly recommended stuffed zucchini blossoms were just okay and we did enjoy the watermelon salad but altogether neither were anything to write home about. This restaurant is located in a nice area of New Jersey. The interior has a soft, warm feel to it, thanks to its wood decor and construction, as well as its warm colored Edison style LED lighting. After being sat at our table, we were greeted by our server, Adam. Adam wasn't the most welcoming or friendly server I have ever had. And we all agreed that he was a little passive agressive. What a lovely dinner experience at The Water Wine Restaurant ! Beautiful views overlooking the Watchung Lake! The service was top notch! Our Server Bill was exemplary! He was very knowledgeable about the menu, answered our questions and made recommendations! Thank you Bill!! The entire team was attentive, poured our drinks, checked in on us, cleaned the crumbs off the table. Truly a fine dining experience! High compliments to the Chef and Kitchen Brigade!!! We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary in this restaurant, good atmosphere, great food, my order included a salad appetizer with arugula, figs, pistachios, nuts, fresh ingredients, exquisite. main course homemade pasta (spicy rigatoni with shrimp) if you like to eat spicy this is a good option. The order for my husband was, appetizer (Cajun Calamari) exquisite, Main Course, home maid pasta (garganelli with porcini) I loved it. The service was phenomenal, the gentleman who served our table was very professional, attentive, the whole time he made sure that everything was fine with us. First time here for a wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was actually very nice and cozy. Valet was the only option which is nice and the guy at Valet was tech efficient to get paid by cash app cause definitely don’t have cash at times. The presentation and service was quick and very friendly. Our server Jackie was really sweet and nice. She had great recs as we had questions about the wine and some questions about entrees. We sat at a window table facing the water and just had a great time. It was calm there and the food was so unbelievably good. They have a wonderful wine list and good mocktails even. The desserts looked amazing, but we were too satisfied with our dinner to get any ourselves
Nice, cozy, warm atmosphere. Enjoyed the view of the lake. The menu is limited to about 3 or 4 dishes, but the food was good. The staff were hospitable and friendly. The bathrooms are clean, and each stall has motivational quotes.
