If you’re in Hermosa, at the beach or just looking for an impromptu dinner with a friend like we were , there are a number of “bar food” choices on pier ave. I would leave Watermans off the list. The only reason to order food here is if you really needed to soak up the alcohol you just drank while sitting on the patio or watching a game.Everything we order Baja tacos, pulled pork sando, and ahi sandwich were mediocre at best. The kid’s menu is limited at best and the cheese pizzas that showed up were not even frozen pizza quality.The thing that bothered me was after we were obviously done eating, no one bothered to clear the table. Our server who was pleasant but dealing with a rowdier table...
It was nice having live music while we ate dinner. Asked for mustard.. never got it. Ordered the quinoa burgers. Bland. No salt or seasonings. The menu said portobello mushrooms maybe they are incorporated into the patty. With quinoa, hummus, and some veggies, you really need seasonings and flavor. Everything tasted the same. The drink was really good.. spicy margarita.Our server never came back to our table. We had to go inside to pay.
Came in to catch a late game. Great place, cool vibe. The music is a lottle overpowering where it's hard to hear your party. The food was really good.. one real highlight is the salsa that comes with all meals. It is spicy, and I feel that it is lacking in most places that try and tone their salsa down.
I had dinner there 2 nights together, since I really liked my first experience. Both evenings, the waitresses were very nice and gave me very good service. And the portions are very generous and tasty. ?

The atmosphere is very nice . The decor has a very beachy feel. The chips and their in-house homemade salsa has an amazing flavor. Great menu to choose from. Very welcoming staff.

A fine beach bar. Folks are friendly and you're on Hermosa Plaza steps from the pier. What's not to like?
