I was introduced to this little Japanese joint by a friend that lived closeby. Truly a gem for great Japanese food in Flemington! Not many Japanese places get me craving their food as much as Wayo does. My all time favourite is the gyoza it's the perfect balance of lightly pan fried crunch combined with the juicyness within, gets me drooling every time! My friend and I shared one at first, but now we get one each. In true Japanese fashion, the serving sizes aren't the largest but the quality and care in creating each dish is certainly there! It leaves you feeling well fed but not bloated, a feeling that I must admit I don't get often (usually I eat too much! . Anyway, place is a 10/10 have b...

I've tried nearly all the Japanese restaurants in the west and this (apart from the occasional dish at Ajitoya and Ebi) is the tasiest and most authentic around. The takoyaki is the closest to the ones I've tried in Japan and Taiwan crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside with a decent chunk of octopus. The torikara fried chicken is flavoursome and juicy (big serve for the price), the teriyaki chicken don is tasty with the poached egg, the beef tataki elegantly presented (though slightly overcooked), and the chicken katsu curry was delicious with tender beef pieces and the chicken cutlet very crispy, as it should be. I'll be back for more.

Met with a girlfriend for Japanese food and bubbles, and my were we excited by what was served up. We shared about 9 10 different entrees, and I couldn't fault anything. The food was absolutely amazing. It was so delicious, I wanted more! I was so disappointed when we wanted to order dessert, only to be told the kitchen was closed at 9pm. So make sure you get there early, as we didn't realise it closed pretty early. The décor is pretty moderate, but who cares when the food is so fabulous.

Stopped by here for a quick afternoon bite with my daughter. Service was fast and friendly. I had the tempura prawn udon noodle soup with salad for $12. My daughter had the teriyaki chicken and rice paired with a nice miso soup for $13. Both dishes were plentiful and delicious. Will return for dinner soon.
