What a joy! The family restaurant is about 3 km from Hochneck and is located directly on the mountain from The Sound of Music. You will be served the meal of the day, which is delicious and representative of the local cuisine. Make a reservation!...Search is family style. You can think that you are lost as the road is torn and not paved and seems to be longer than 3 km. But it is worth the ride to enjoy a wonderful French lunch while you see the windows in the beautiful villages and pastures of the Vosges.

You need to find a way to find the Ferme Auberge not hard to find, though a bit on paths and discover a magnificent view of the mountains and the plain of Alsace. You will be made there local food, potatoes in... a special way, smoked ham and what you will surely love to make home Blueberry Pie. The place is worthwhile for lunch or dinner as a family or with friends. You can also reach it while you wander around the mountains. Service was excellent. The place can be a little loud when crowded.

I think that was my favorite femme-auberge of everything we tried in the Vosges. It is in a great location with fantastic views, and like many others you can reserve a table inside, but you need to have your chances out (and it is also self-service... outside). It is a small menu, but with good local things, served very fast, and with friendly staff, although they were so busy. A great place.
