Weinhaus Schaab-Louis

Centrally located, behind Marktplatz and the Central station. A typical somewhat standard German restaurant, wine/beer bar. We went on a hot night and sat in the courtyard, where it was quite hot because no air. Service is efficient and friendly. Don’t expect elegance here, it’s just a plain place of standard good food and drinks. I had the Salmon salad, which was very nice although nothing was done to present it in a ‘special’ way. It came on a plate of greens, with a tasteful dressing. I asked some fries as extra. Just the regular fries came. Prices are ok for the quite generous portions you get. Place can get packed. It’s a place with some history, but it didn’t impress me to go back another time.

This is my first review although we have been here a few times. An inviting place and worth a visit for casual dining Eat, Drink and Chat to your hearts content. Recommend trying the blackboard menu daily specials and local specialties. There are plenty of local beers and wines to have you wouldn't be disappointed. Our server Rosita Lindner was very attentive and had a good understanding of our group's requirements.

big group of colleagues. A lot of beer and some sausages. Not very fast in servicing although we were there very late. but all in all, nice place were to spend a couple of hours in a typical German environment.

The beer garden is very nice with a very cozy atmosphere. They offer a variety of regional wines and beers. The food is delicious and a little bit international with a regional touch.

Everything you want in a traditional restaurant. All we had was very well done as wine and beer. Smaller choice than most, but the quality was high above the board. Will be back
