West River Cookhouse

This was the worst dining experience I have had in years. It was so bad that my partner couldn't help but laugh, while personally I wanted to cry. The server seemed nice and warned us that the burgers were pre-made frozen patties, but claimed that other menu items were fresh and homemade. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The server also kept referring to my partner as "Dolly," which was odd. I ordered ribs that were extremely tough, clearly frozen and then microwaved with a bit of ketchup and BBQ sauce on top. Met some friends there for dinner. Excellent service and we all really enjoyed our meals. 3 of our party had the daily special of veal or chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, red cabbage and spaetzle or potato cakes. Very tasty. We couldn't resist the homemade dessert of apple fritter served with vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce. Yum! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a good home cooked meal at reasonable prices. We will be sure to return next time we are in the area.

The couple that run this restaurant are exceptional people. Very friendly and remember customers. Small but nice and clean. Food is fantastic. Apple fritter dessert is awesome. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Fish Chips were horrible and the mac n cheese. Cook was angry and swore that he had too cook food in front of customers. Will not recommend or return.
