Mediocre. We frequent this place with my partner's family when they visit from the country, and although the meals are cheap $10- $15 mains), the quality of the food is not really even worth the money you pay. I'd rather go to Footscray and get some pho and spring rolls for the same price! I've tried the steak, lamb salad, parma, calamari and grilled fish and to be honest, none of them were exactly thrilling. Some of the punters there are questionable. Get there early otherwise you'll be disturbed by drunks and rowdy bogans playing pool. Probably my least favourite place of places I've been, unfortunately
it was the birthday of herrn hipster (although it was the day before) and we decided to eat next door in the pub too lunchtime because the pubs mr hipsters second are home. Miss mousey called to the west end market hotel and ordered our meals as we arrived there would be our food ready. the midday time came by and we took our way to the west end for a pub bur.
while the service was quite good, eating can only be described as a thorough. the moving Hokkien noodles were probably the selection of the meal; while the surf n turf was not up to par......prawns were a abandoned. every meal that came with salat was absolutely crushed in salat dressing, which was disappointing. No one eats this amount of dressing!
Ugghhh. Lets see. Tables seem to be cleared only after people are seated. Half cooked meals seem to just get put in the microwave longer (which only just heats uncooked chicken). At least the appearance of the home brand battered fish tells you what to expect before you taste it. Atrocious. Any other pub in the West is better... ANY

Much improved in recent weeks perhaps a new chef? Veggies were crispy and full of color, mash was smooth and not deb and steak of reasonable quality. Had almost given up hope but pleased to say that would go again for a cheap weekday feed. Given the lack of any decent pubs in the area that sell decent food I am much relieved
Very inconsistent. We have taken to ordering our steaks less cooked than we would normally. Very quiet but when busy expect chaos. Its close and you can get a good quality steak even if it a bit overcooked. Just visited again recently no more can overlook in consistently but rudness no. Thank you
mistfutter, you wait forever to get it, preheated müll. soggy, tasteless müll, I would rather eat my cats. complains about waiting 55 minutes to dinner, manager not interested, we filled up on stabbed chocolate in my bag, so hungry!
Don't think I'll be going back to the westend unless I want to wait 40 mins to get my meal. Not a happy customer
