Wharf Hill Brewing Co.

My husband and I stayed at Wharf Hill for the first time for lunch today. The building itself is unique and full of history, but it was inappropriately cold in the dining area. It was busy but not packed and it took a while for us to get our food. Tables that came after us received their food before we did. My burger was good, but my husband wasn't. He ordered it medium and it came super well done. The fries were good, and our server was very nice, but the star of the show was the strawberry cider they had on Hahn, it was delicius. All in all, I can try again, but I wouldn't get out of my way to eat here. Side Note, and this is just personal preference, a country radio station somehow ruins...

Somewhat tucked away on a side street in Smithfield, we missed this treasure! What a great experience with an amazing somewhat erie historical background! Seems this old building was a funeral home crematorium. All the wood, tables, everything are from original historical buildings. As I understand the story, the kitchen area now was the crematorium. Well, whatever they were cookin , some deliciousness with a side of fried green tomatos was on the menu. We delighted in the stories as much as the food! We were expecting much more. The food was lackluster at best. We had to ask the manager to bring plates for the appetizers. The server was slow and seemed to be very overwhelmed. They brought out half the food then we had to ask where the other half was. When we did get food it was luke warm. The manager was accomodating to the kid that didnt like her food but that was the best part. The part i want to stress is that for a Brewing company they didnt have most of the beer on the menu unless you wanted a bottle of domestic beer. My advise is to stay away from this place unless you want to be disappointed.

We took an afternoon trip to Smithfield and had the best experience at Wharf Hill. Prices are great, huge servings, and maybe one of the biggest offerings of gluten-free items I’ve ever seen at a restaurant! I tried the bangers and mash, which had some of the BEST gravy ever had. I was literally scraping the plate to eat it all : my husband had a burger with a gluten-free bun! We will be back, it was so good! Dietary restrictions: So many gluten-free options! Food was pretty good. Disappointed in service. Not sure where our entree got lost. 20 or less for appetizer and then 40 minutes for the main course. No acknowledgment of the delay. Left a bad taste, even after my fan favorite Non-Wontons. Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Great dive and brewery. Food is excellent. Not ADA compliant, so if you have mobility concerns then give this place a pass. The seats are hardwood with no cushion. Otherwise 5 stars. Parking: On a slope. Not wheelchair accessible. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5
