I have lived in Grays since 2006, and I have to say, I've had some pretty terrible roasts here in the past. They were so bad that I didn't even feel like writing about them—after all, there's an old saying: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. We usually have to travel east to find a decent roast. However, this pub has finally stepped up and delivered a Sunday roast that was truly satisfying. By the time we were ready to eat, we felt so full that our eyes and noses were already sated! Everything was delicious, but I have to give a special mention to the bratkartoffeln (Yesmin's nana's recipe)—they were exceptional. This is a warm and inviting place run by a love...
I absolutely adore this pub! The food is delicious, the new staff is wonderful and welcoming, and the weekend entertainment is fantastic. It's also conveniently located close to a children's park, making it a lovely place to bring the whole family. I always feel safe bringing my little ones here. This is the only local spot I visit, and will continue to visit in the future. The only suggestion I have is to add a snooker table or room and charge by the hour, which would make the experience even better. Trust me, I have nothing but love for my second family at this pub.
We organized my sister's birthday celebration here with help from Cliff and Stephen. Everything was wonderful; the recent renovations have made the pub look beautiful. The room and the restrooms were very clean. Cliff was fantastic behind the bar, as were his staff. The kitchen was a bit slow in serving the food for the party, but it was delicious. It’s great to have such a fabulous pub in Gray, and it’s easy to enjoy a nice walk by the sea afterward with friends.
We were really pleased when this opened up again under new management. The new owners seem to be doing well making a go of it and we have visited a few times now. Food is nice and good value for money and the eating area has a good ambience. We need to keep local areas going and I'm more than happy to support local businesses such as this with my custom. I hope this continues to thrive and I recommend a visit.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The interior is a bit dim, but it adds to the ambiance. The menu is somewhat limited, featuring dishes like jacket potatoes with beans and cheese, but the prices are very reasonable. There's also a children's menu available. I hope to visit again in the future when they might offer a wider variety of dishes. Overall, the atmosphere is lovely.
I visit here often....today I visited with my uncle in law also a chef with his own pub....we loved the food, we loved the company and the surrounding ambience....I see this pub as my local my favourite and my family highly recommend to anyone
had a brilliant night here, the new owner has made a fantastic work with the place, it is now somewhere I suggest to my friends much more, they have 2 for 1 cocktail jugs and great music / atmosphere in any case the love they have given!
The food at this restaurant was fantastic and tasted homemade. I definitely plan on returning. A special shout out to the lady who cooks, the dishes were delicious. The Thai green curry was especially well done!

The pub has a nice atmosphere, but the pint of lager was subpar. If you prefer lager, it's better to stick to bottles as they have more flavor. The draught lager is not recommended.
