The cafe is located in the heart of Thirsk, near the World of James Herriot, in a cobbled market square. There is ample parking which is free after 1800 hrs. The restaurant had closed by the time we visited. However the chip and gravy supper take-away was really good. Absolutely amazing food. It may be a fish and chip restaurant (also has a takeout) but they do sell other food and there are a couple of vegetarian options, worth noting that there isn't many of them though. I had the vegetable burger and it was quite nice but the lettuce was a little tasteless. Other than that, I loved coming here and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The chips are some of the best I've ever had and I've been to some of the most well known places for chips in the country (Trenchers Whitby etc).

Really good tasty traditional food. Lovely dinning room upstairs. Hubbie had the fish and chips which came with a slice of bread and butter. I don't eat fish, so opted for chicken pieces pieces of chicken breast in a light batter) with the most delicious chips, and a nice mix of salad. Hubbi said the batter on his fish was lovely and crisp and light. Tarter and tomatoe sauce on the table. Well worth the visit.
