great food, nice dining room. we had visited this year the dining room of the whitechapel gallery when maria elia was chef and we had a nice meal. it is now about michael paul, but we had heard good dinge so that we decided to jump on the east london line and go for a Saturday night with our old tennis partner esther and b’s university hum, the delightful Carmen./ as a dining room, this is one of my favorites. right next to the aldgate East-Rohrstation you reach the restaurant through the gallery entrance and the main room is immediately on the right side with a small private room, seat about ten, on the left side. it is a small intimate room, with a beautiful lighting and well spacious tabl...

come here if you want an evening meal with cultural envy as concept are museum or gallery cafés often better than in reality. for any south london gallery cafe that offers inexpensive and freshly prepared quality options, there are two or three such as the national gallery cafe or the British museum court restaurant; overpriced, robberies suck desperate jelly from their mozens, the visual art version of the overpriced popcorn get them in the cinema. ramsay protege angela Hartnett has thrown their hat into the ring with this newly renovated matchbox size dining room in the hip east end whitechapel gallery.

I have visited this place many times. It's always busy and it used to have waiter service and pay at the end. I was disappointed that this has changed. Having sat for awhile I finally went up to the counter myself. There weren't as many fakes as they used to have and I had to pay upfront. Not sure if it's under new management. However, the two cakes my friend and I shared were beautiful! I was very pleasantly surprised! Not sure I'd rush back there as there's other places very close by with much more on offer.

The recent addition of a daytime café at the Whitechapel Gallery offers a variety of hot and cold food options with a rotating menu. A standout dish for us was the hearty salt beef sandwich served with a side of sweet potato salad and roasted garlic. For dessert, we indulged in a scrumptious prune and almond frangipane.

We come here often, and it's a **** good cafe. The staff are the best thing about the place always friendly, genuine, and banterous. The food is always good, and often helpfully healthy. The coffee is always tip top. It's all a tad pricey, but not outrageously, given where it is.

Comfortable place to sit and relax after walking round exhibits in the gallery. It can get busy but there is a quieter area facing the main cafe which many people don't notice. Interesting and nutritious salads and very good cake

I have heard some excellent reports on Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room (WGDR) lately, and when I learnt that it had joined TasteLondon, Dr G and I decided to pay it a visit. The restaurant area is surprisingly small and int

as expected, the cheeses were all fine examples, most about neals yard. I felt that they could have been a bit more generous with instructions, but it was a fight to finish the plate as it was.
