Attended Bonkerz Comedy Club at the Why Not Lounge. They tag themselves as The Legendary Why Not Lounge. There are several reasons for this, and none of them good. There were seven of us, who all ordered from the same waitress, at the same time. Four of us got our drinks almost immediately. Myself and my companion did not get ours. The other members of our party ordered mixed drinks. We ordered two bottled beers, which never came. I had also asked for nachos, and to start a tab. After thirty minutes, I finally went to the wait station, and asked the waitress for my credit card to be returned, so that I could order from the bar. She insisted that she was coming right over, with our drinks. She apologized, saying that my nachos had come out cold, and they had re-ordered. I said that 's fine, but you should really TELL someone what is going on. She said the manager was coming right over. I replied that I would really like the drinks we ordered, and she again said they were coming right up. 15 minutes later, another waitress came over to apologize for the wait, we 're shortstaffed, etc. Still no beers. I pointed out that the other members of our same party, who were all seated at the same time, had now finished their appetizers, ordered a new entree, and been served that food, and we still did not have two simpled bottled beers. Re-ordered the nachos, and waited some more. The beers finally arrived. At slightly over one hour, the manager actually showed with the nachos, as our party now had a third entree they were consuming. When I attempted to explain to the manager the specific deficiencies in our experience, he copped a major attitude, and acted like I was supposed to apologize to him. For the record, I am a service manager in a hotel, and work for another hotel in Daytona that hosts a Bonkerz venue there. This place sucked, from start to finish. The main headliner was great, but the venue staff are totally useless. I will not be back. Too many tables packed into a small area, volume on the music is WAY too loud for the space, and the parking is horrible. Go elsewhere for a more enjoyable evening out.
This is my favorite spot to visit my when I visit from NY. Karaoke and comedy are my favorite 2 things in the world. I kept coming back to this place cause of their superb bartender Heather N. I love places that make you feel like you have been coming there for years. Heather made me feel like I was a regular right away and can hold down a fun conversation with a crazy Nyer like myself. I will be visiting the Why Not very soon and I look forward to some karaoke and schmoozing with my favorite bartender Heather!
