We returned to Wild Dunes after visiting with friends at Spring Break. We loved spring break and the Sweetgrass Inn. Fast forward a few months to our summer trip. We paid $1200 for two nights and decided on the Residences at Sweetgrass because of the kitchenette. We arrived at the room and it smelled moldy, but it’s a beach resort so we overlooked that. Both the bathroom sink and tub were clogged and backed up water and we weren’t phased. Multiple areas of the room needed to be touched up. I have seen some of the reviews and I was unsure about our visit. But the resort and hotel was beautiful. We had reserved the king premium room at the SweetGrass Inn. We overlooked the pool resort and the ocean in the background. Our room is beautiful and very clean. The sweetgrass pool is the family pool. But there are numerous other pools on the resort. There are two pools down on the pavilion. There is a pool behind the SweetGrass Pavilion. And there is an adult only pool behind the Boardwalk Inn/hotel. So there are plenty of options for everyone. We stayed at the resort in the middle of this past July. The resort itself was pretty and clean with decent restaurants. We prepaid for our room through a travel agent. When checking out we paid the additional fees and the cost to valet our car. 3 weeks after returning home, my credit card was charged an additional $145. When I called about the charge, I was told that was the balance I still owed. When I stated that everything was paid through a travel agent and I did pay additional costs at check out, I was put on hold to look into the issue. We rented a three-bedroom house that was nice but in need of updates. The food was just average, and you don’t receive a receipt, making it easy to get overcharged. We also rented a cabana for $400, plus a mandatory 20% gratuity and taxes, but we didn’t see a server or attendant until 11:30 AM. Even after they arrived, the service was inconsistent. We were charged over $80 a day in resort fees, yet we didn’t receive any beach towels. I noticed a lot of guests complaining about the lack of towels. The pools were warm and murky, not at all clear. I just checked in today for a week-long stay to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Initially, we were placed in a condo that was meant to be high quality, but it turned out to be dirty, outdated, and unsafe. It was quite disappointing and upsetting, to the point where my wife was in tears. Fortunately, our travel agent contacted Sweet Grass, and within an hour, we were moved to a beautiful and immaculate room. Hayden, the manager, went above and beyond to resolve the issues caused by the condo accommodations.
We had the best time here. I can’t think of anything about this place we didn’t enjoy. Starting with the staff they’re all so nice and helpful. Our room was very clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job keeping it that way. The restaurant’s are very good and the beach and pool were both great! We enjoyed being able to go to the adults only pool for some quiet time. Pool service was available at all times there too! I highly recommend this place!
We stayed at Villa on Wild Dunes, and the amenities at the resort were fantastic. While the prices reflect that it's a resort, all the options were wonderful. The pools, family activities, beach access, bars, and restaurants were all excellent. Additionally, there are plenty of nearby activities such as golf, more beaches, and various restaurants and bars.
First time visiting Wild Dunes for a business conference in early August hosted at the Sweetgrass Conference Center at Wild Dunes. Really enjoyed the amenities offered as a visitor and the valet staff (Jagger and Austin) was amazing and very attentive! Overall a great experience!

Very very nice place. Clean, convenient and well run. Would like the wood fire pizza place to stay open later and for there to be a reggae band by the pool. Very convenient general store with lots of food options. No need to leave the property, everything right there.
Tijera was wonderful. We had a room issue when we first checked. Tijera was willing to she what she could do to fix the issue. Tijera made a few calls and solved the issue. What was best was her warm smile the moment I walked up. Very grateful for Tijera.
