Visited here with my friend and we were super excited after hearing great reviews. The pizza was delicious and the food was served promptly, tasted very fresh! However it was the customer service that was lacking. Our server was a middle aged woman with dark hair and glasses, we didn’t see her smile once the whole time we were there. Very blunt in the way she spoke to us, made no effort to be friendly or chatty. She was extremely slow to take our order, and we had to go up to the till to ask for the bill after waiting for over 15 minutes in our coats with no one coming over. Myself and my girlfriend are locals to York. Wildwood is our absolute go to and I thought it’s about time we left a review! We’ve been so many times, amazing place. Beautiful little venue with fairy lights, the food is absolutely incredible, really tasty and good portion sizes, always leave so full! Price is reasonable for what you get, 2 for 1 cocktails too! We visited today for my girlfriends birthday- I did pop in the booking notes that it was her birthday and we were offered a birthday brownie or glass of fizz which was really lovely but we were so full we had to decline! Looked in to Wildwood after Little Italy could take one for dinner. Loved the old/contemporary feel to the York Wildwood a name I didn't know at all. They were attentive without being over bearing and it obvious that they were short staffed. Kudos to the lovely person who looked after me totally professional. From their new additions I opted for the Chicken Pate starter and Rump Steak; both were stand outs delicious and a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. You need to order more bread for the pate, but it came quickly and hot. Shout out on the fries always a dodgy bet at some places; but these were crisp and hot. We were in York for a holiday, and came across this place on our first night when looking for somewhere to eat. Really glad we found it! Great Italian food, and tasty cocktails! Loved the choice of having a smaller pizza/pasta option with a salad. Would highly recommend

We enjoyed a very nice lunch. Three of us had pizza and a salad (one had gluten free crust which was good in a second try first one was burnt). My husband had garlic bread with cheese and caramlized onions which he loved. The mushroom risotto was good but not great.
The food was excellent and definitely worth the wait... the wait being a little too long in my opinion but not ridiculous. Be aware of the sneaky 10% service charge on the bill at the end though, staff have no problem removing it so don't be afraid to ask!
Absolutely the best gluten free pizza I've had, nothing more to be debated. Lovely patient, attentive staff, also. If you're looking for Pizza in the York area, this place has to be first down in consideration.
We ate here twice over a three night stay in York. Very helpful and pleasant staff, excellent food on both nights with nice clean tables and surroundings, we will definitely eat here when back in York

Great Pizza and Seafood linguine is banging!! Tuscan potatoes needed a few more mins in the oven and salad not great but rectified by staff. Good central position in town, Would go back.
Amazing food and service. I came for a birthday and it was amazing. I had such a good time here I would definitely recommend.
