We stopped in for Lunch on a Wednesday in April. We had to wait outside to be seated, but only for about 15 minutes. The place gets pretty crowded on the weekends I heard, so I was glad we came on a weekday shortly after they opened. There 's a QR code you scan to go to a web page to add yourself to the waitlist. I had the Fried Chicken, Fried Okra, and Mac-n-Cheese. The chicken was excellent. The sides were good. Everything was well-seasoned and the chicken had a perfect crisp to the fried skin and a nice mild spiciness to it. It 's very tasty, famous, a local fav, and part of the neighborhood history. Apr 17th 2023 restaurant is closed, windows and doors boarded up with wooden planks. Just to help confirm for anyone who was gonna come check if it was open. 5 star anyway since everyone seems to say this spot is amazing lol....wish I got to try! Update Lyft driver confirmed they had a fire about two weeks ago

Amazing service (friendly and efficient) and great quality fried chicken and okra! Warning to newcomers, you have to wait a long time (in my case 2 hours) before being seated inside since it is so popular so come prepared!
