As a long time vegan I’ve had my fair share of vegan restaurants. I never want to go out of my way to down a vegan business because it’s very important what they stand for and I will always support but I will say that Willow has to do a bit better. At times it felt like our waitress forgot we were even there with how long it took for her to check in on us or bring us the check. We hadn’t seen her for so long we had to request that the guy clearing dishes from our table let her know we needed her. Wow, what a fantastic dining experience at Willow Restaurant in Chelsea! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it perfect for a night out. But the real stars of the show were the food and service! The truffle Mac and cheese was TO DIE FOR creamy, rich, and utterly decadent. We also appreciated the flexibility of being able to walk in without a reservation. Our waitress, Gabriela, was an absolute rockstar! Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, she made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I’m from Jersey and took this short ride last night to NY specifically to try out this place since I’m newly vegan. Booked a reservation and absolutely enjoyed it. The atmosphere was very nice, calm and intimate. I loved having the table right next to the huge windows. And the food was absolutely incredible. I had to keep questioning if it was really vegan LOL the vegan steak fillet , oyster mushroom calamari, and cauliflower buffalo wings were amazing . So on point and juicy with the perfect flavor ! Loved every bite. Definitely coming here again very very soon. Recommending this place to everyone. Staff members were also so nice and polite! 10/10
I wanted to like this place, but despite its good looks on the other side of the glass, the atmosphere felt strangely liminal. I felt as if I were in an airport, or a mall cafeteria, with distant, metallic music playing from god knows where, and brash, blinding lights on one side of the restaurant while the other side remained dark. As far as the food goes, the cheese plate was great but I prefer the one at Delice Sarrasin. The french dip and french fries were perfect. The chicken sandwich was bland, mushy, and lukewarm. The servers were friendly and attentive without imposing. I would be interested in returning if the atmosphere were improved.
This vegan restaurant is the best in New York, hands down! Ian, our waiter, gave us the BEST SERVICE EVER. We had a little baby with us, and Ian played with him so much that our baby couldn’t stop smiling at him. He was very kind and welcoming. The food was 10/10, especially the vegan steak and the cheesecake. The wine, the salad, the vegan chicken… honestly, everything was amazing. The ambiance is classy and clean. My wife and I came here for our second wedding anniversary, and we had a blast! We strongly recommend this place if you’re visiting New York!
I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant before a concert last week. Every dish I tried was delightful especially being predominantly plant-based. The mac and cheese was comforting, and the calamari rings paired with the dipping sauces were packed with a robust flavor. My drink was the perfect complement with its zesty notes. I'd love to return, though it's worth noting that the space feels a bit tight for larger groups. Overall, a fantastic spot for a quick meal for a date, girl dinner and beyond.
Overhyped and overpriced. Came all the way from London to try this restaurant and was very much disappointed to find out three of the options we wanted from the menu were not available. The food tastes processed, the bread is hard and was disappointed to find out that the burger patties were impossible burgers which you could buy from any supermarket. Significantly overhyped and overpriced don’t waste your time
The food here is INCREDIBLE. We tried the cheeseboard, fried calamari, and clam chowder and for desert the strawberry cheesecake and cookie/ice cream duo. Everything was delicious and some of the best vegan food I've had. Their cheese is incredible as well as the housemade ice cream. Staff was very nice and helpful and the atmosphere is cute, good date vibes. Highly recommend to everyone, vegans and not.
