My wife & I went to the Wimpy's Diner on Yonge Street, In Aurora, the day of their "Street Festival, on Sunday morning in early June, 2016.The initial service by the waitress was fine, but the actual pancakes & syrup that my wife & I ordered, is a totally different story.Both my wife & I ordered the 3 piece buttermilk pancakes(my wife added a side-order of sausages).The pancakes arrived with the pancake syrup in a plastic squeeze bottle.I squeezed the syrup onto the pancakes as I always do, noticed how very thick(like motor oil) it was & then started to eat them.Immediately I noticed the very thick syrup had virtually no "syrup taste" and a very metallic aftertaste. The current owners have no idea of what a diner is supposed to be. The freshly made milk shakes of previous times are now reduced to McDonalds premixed ones. The freshly made hamburgers are now unspectacular premade ones. A Jumbo hot dog with :3 pepper blend: adverstised in the menu was instead barely cooked green peppers with almost raw onions (not sautéed really) and no sign of any BBQ sauce. The onion rings were not freshly made and barely cooked. The services was so - so - we were in a raised booth and it was apparently too big an effort for the waitress to actually come to our table - she stood at ground level behind me. Went for dinner with family. Noticed a chair was propping a side door open...realized when we entered there was no air conditioning. No big deal, we were the only ones in the restaurant (should had left by then). Thought perhaps it was the long weekend a lot of people are away. Staff were friendly. We orders chicken souvlaki, chicken dinner & roast beef. We could hear a beeping noise while our order was being made. It was the microwave! Only the salad was descent. We think they microwaved the chicken...it was horrid! Greasy not even grilled as per the menu. We actually had to ask the waiter to take the chicken back and cook it longer & the vegetables that came with the roast beef was microwa...

The place is filthy, a layer of grease on every surface, the beat up and inoperative jukeboxes at the tables are actually slippery!Service was equal to the cleanliness, the waitress couldn't be bothered to come around to the table and forced us to turn around to talk to her over the partition. This coupled with her habit of walking away before we had completed our order made the experience frustrating at best.The food should come with a warning that's says "consume at your own risk". It bears no relation to either the pictures or the description on the menu and every main item had some key ingredient that was described in the menu missing.This place desperately needs a visit from the health... Nice classic greasy spoon.Service is always decent, only issue is the location is VERY small so it's always a tight fit.Any bfast item I've ordered has always been fresh, quick, hot and good eat. This is not a "health food" place, good old fashioned comfort food.

The place is very small for a wimpys location. However it is jammed full of neat stuff to look at. Food was good. On par for diner food. It came out fast and as ordered. Service was good. Not a place to take a large group of people.

Meet and greet with friends on Saturday or Sunday mornings for great breakfast specials and quaint 50's style surroundings. This is the best breakfast joint in town.

Pretty acceptable food, huge servings and a bit of fun in the atmosphere; a real diner feel, with friendly service.

Breakfast is too expensive for a fast food place. Service is slow and atmosphere is run down. aurora
