Essendon Football Club has traditionally been one of the AFL 's top clubs, but due to a drug-related scandal it has fallen on hard times. Even so, Essenon has many fans in Victoria and all over Australia, who often count a trip to Windy Hill as...the highlight of their trip to Melbourne. Windy Hill, Essendon 's spiritual home, has a good dining room which I can personally recommend, as I have been there several times. New members are welcome and interstate visitors are usually given a tour of the club 's long-time home ground. I can also recommend Windy Hill for functions.
Windy Hill is the traditional home of the Esendon Football Club, known as the Bombers. The Bombers are one of the most successful teams in the Australian Football League (AFL). Essendon are going through what an Aussie would describe as a "rough patch" agt the moment, but they will recover, they always do. The dining room is quite good, I have eaten there several time and come away satisfied, Out of town Bombers fans are welcome to visit.
We always enjoy our evening here, though it can be quite busy. It caters for the young and old and the meals are a decent size and as members ($11pp for the year) there are many deals to be had. It can be a bit expensive ($22 to $29) and would prefer slightly small portion for a smaller price. Good selection of Senior meals. Service is very quick and effient, and staff helpful.

many nostalgic people still feed at the windy hill, although the bombers have moved their education and administration hq near melbourne airport. eating comes in large portions and is favorable. Club-Merkhamdise is welcome for those who eatdon through thick and...then visitors are welcome. the windy hill is by the way just a short walk from the train station Essendon.
I have been here a couple of times now. The food is okay but nothing to rave about. The waiting staff are in a bit of a rush and have a tendency to place the wrong meal on the table without checking. The first time I went I had roast and the second time I went I had steak. Both meals were average. Not somewhere I would rush back to.

A rather bland cave like room.Tables are small, three are crowded on a four seater.Service very slow and offhand,my mates waited 45 minutes for ordinary run of the mill pub grub.Drinks are cheap and full measure.Clean,family friendly vibe.

Have had many meals in the Bistro with mixed results. Had dinner last night and had a lovely meal off the specials board, trio of ribs with coleslaw and harissa mayonnaise. New chef, new menu, new favourite menu item
Attended a wedding reception at this venue and was very impressed. The staff were very helpful and the food was delicious.
