Unlike other wineries you may have visited. Wine by One gives you a different kind of experience. When you arrive you are given a card (that you can keep) and with this card you put as much money as you please depending on how many and the different kind of wines you would like to taste. The tasting per wine can range from .90 to 3.50 euro.The wines are organized from white to reds and light taste to dry taste. To me paying for each tasting is ridiculous. You can go to a winery in America and pay a flat fee and try every wine they have to offer. They also have wine to cheese plates you can order to go along with your tasting. Bonjour.
I was a little hesitant in the beginning, knowing that I would get my wine from a "vending machine". But in reality the experience is very nice !!You charge your card with some Euros, and then manage your budget going from one wine to another. Sparkling or not, white, red or rosé, sweet or dry... Up to you.You can also order some cheese, charcuterie and bread.Located in the middle of the banking area in Paris, this place is surrounded by a multitude of bars and other restaurants, and very easily accessible by urban transport.
Great idea to be able to sample a various amount of wine before pouring yourself a glass, but not very efficient having to 'rent' a charge card, put money on it, and then do your sampling. Especially when you can't use the card to pay for food, or be refunded any remaining amount.On the plus side, the food was amazing! and it's nice that you could purchase a bottle of the wine you like!
It opened few years ago with the concept of tasting very nice wines by the glass. Fine but the result is unfortunately very different. The small portion is the equivalent of a sommelier poors you to taste it. Ridiculous.. The other ones are also disappointing. So are the small tapas dishes

100 options to try with three different sized pours. Friendly staff that spoke English. Only thing missing is better English descriptions of wines on machines (of course you are in Paris so this comment is just for English tourists)
We decided to eat while waiting for the rain to stop. This is a wine shop but they do have a lunch menu. Ordered a set meal and it was delicious. Salad and the coffee and its mini pastries were perfect.
A great way to taste wines from around the world. We liked the fact one got to choose what types of wine for a reasonable tasting price. A great experience. Small plates available. Wonderful staff!
This place gets really busy, but the staff here speaks English _The onion soup isn't the best that I've had, but it's a decent soup.
