We did not spend the night at this establishment. After a long journey, we were eager for a cup of coffee and a late breakfast or early lunch. The cafe looked worn out and outdated, lacking a warm welcome upon our arrival. It seemed more like a "place your order and find your own table" kind of vibe, with a blank stare implying, "if you don't like it, leave." The other customers seemed to have experienced the same treatment, judging by their smiles towards us. The final straw was the state of the men's restroom, which was filthy and poorly maintained. This is unacceptable for a food-focused business charging premium prices. We typically support local businesses, but this one needs to improve...
Great little find that we stubbled on by accident on the way to Cornwall. Lovely building and gardens, nice atmosphere and a gorgeous full English breakfast and coffees. We asked if we could put two tables together as it was very busy and the man serving said it was no problem only for one of the girls to rudely shout across the café to tell us that we had better put them back when we had finished. She definitely needs to work on her customer service skills. Apart from her attitude problem, the place was lovely.
I was recommended Woodleigh Coach House for lunch by a family member and I was not disappointed. The food was very good and the portion size was generous. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that I ordered the chicken burger, expecting BBQ sauce, but it came out as southern fried. It would be helpful if they specified on the menu that it is southern fried. Other than that, it is a fantastic place to eat with great portion sizes and fair prices.
