One of the things that I miss the most from Asia is the food, well the amazing places I visited too, but I love their culture, go where locals go, and their food is a great way to always get in contact with that amazing world; so a friend took me to this gem and I couldn't stop coming back to Vietnam with every bite, there's a long list of amazing dishes for all your fancy tastes; I always go for mild food because of annoying allergies, but if you can, be my guest and challenge yourself. The pho is huge no matter is you ask for the small, the mango slush is to die for, and the mango salad (even the mild) is delicious; they serve alcohol for those who care, and they are conveniently open unti...

I love pho so I have been to as many vietnamese restaurants both in Toronto and in Asia. I can say their Pho is So so (average). The tripe portion in my Pho didn't taste very fresh. However they served our food quite fast since there were just a handful of customers when we went there on a Sunday for early dinner. This restaurant is sandwiched between two other Asian restaurants along Spadina street just across the Toronto Trolley station right at the very centre of Chinatown. Their washrooms and floor were a bit dirty and nobody among the staff were trying to clean it since they were all standing near the door waiting for customers to order or have their food delivered to their tables. If you haven't tried pho, you're missing out on a great joy of life. Order the plain pho tai (thin beef) soup. Put some basil leaves on top, a bit of hot red sauce in the sup and a bit of brown hoisin sauce in the soup, and mix the sauces in. Oh, and a dash of squeezed lime. Turn the beef over underneath until it goes from pink to brown. Now enjoy one of the best meals in the world. This place has pretty good pho. Also, the deep fried spring rolls (cha gio) are much better here than the ones you get in Chinese restaurants.
- for getting me hooked on Pho. She took me here for my introduction to Pho (w/c is actually pronounced as "Fah"). I fell in luv with Pho that day and always compared other places that served pho too but to me,Xelua will still be no.1 and the best :) I also highly recommend their Beef Stew noodle:the meat is really soft and SUPER YUMMY :) I always bring anyone I know who haven't tried Vietnamese food before to Xelua and they all luved it and now also blame me (in a good way)for getting them hooked :) Reserva una mesa ahora
The Bun Bo Hue is good I didn't feel like they skimped on the meat -there was lots!.The vermicelli with the spring rolls and red Vietnamese meat was good. There was lots of taro in the crispy springroll -like there should be!I would definitely return. Waitress girl was a little ....either clueless or had attitude although it wasn't busy at all. But she was normal afterwards.
Yum. I have become slightly obsessed with this amazing soup and have tried a few other places: including this chain's other Broadview/Gerrard location but I keep coming back to this beauty. I could eat here every day. Highly recommend a classic pho or mix it up with some of their other soups. I haven't really tried anything else yet. Also love the late hours.
We went for lunch and I had a 509 plate. Chicken was good and the plate was huge but not much shrimp. The soup dishes are also huge so I recommend getting a small soup as it is enough to fill the average person. Staff friendliness was just so-so and the bathroom were not very clean. Other than that, food is good and there is lots of it.
Rare beef Pho is my favourite Vietnamese dish ever and this is where I enjoy it the most when I'm in Toronto. Great spring rolls and vermicelli bowls. It's a no nonsense place to eat well for cheap. Reserva una mesa ahora
I come here once couple weeks to satisfy my pho craving. I was brought here by my Vietnamese coworker and I really enjoy their pho. They have a good balance of meat portion, size, and taste.
Another taste of Vietnam in the city of Toronto. They served one of the Vietnamese cuisine around here. The staff were excellent, food is delicious and the environment is clean
