Yalla Organic Hummus

With the word "Hummus" in the café’s name, I expected the hummus to be outstanding, but the two varieties I tried fell short, tasting similar to many commercial hummus brands, whether organic or not. My friend found the hummus to be acceptable, but I found both flavors overly garlic-infused and too salty for my palate. On the brighter side, the brown rice and whole wheat pita were noteworthy. For an extra charge, they offer baba ghanoush as a light topping, but it often gets overshadowed by the rest of the dish. As a fan of baba ghanoush, I brought home a pint, packed on ice. I regret having to write this review because the food and service here are excellent, but I’ve noticed some concerning hygiene practices. I dine here often and have spent a significant amount of money, but I can’t continue to eat here anymore. I’ve observed staff touching non-food items while serving, and when they put on gloves, they skip washing their hands first. Instead, they put on the gloves directly without any handwashing, meaning their hands are touching the part of the gloves that will come into contact with the food. The food is really good, and clearly marked vegan options which can be hard to find in this area at times. The juices are pricey and a little small, but the food portions are large and very filling. The salad toppings are really flavorful too (carrot salad, beet salad, pickles etc). They are great at the local farmers market and just takeout from the store. They also have INCREDIBLE baba ganoush. I do wish they were a bit healthier. It’s a bummer when ordering online that you *must* choose a protein, and none of the options are healthy for vegans (2 types of deep fried falafel, and one tofu that isn’t grilled). The star is given for the place being clean. NOT a professional Mediterranean food. Shawarma is not a shawarma (chicken flakes), but small chicken pieces. They also don?t arrange the falafel pita correctly.. salad at the bottom of the pita, falafel balls,chunk of tahini on top? I don?t want a bite of tahini, a bite of dry falafel, a bite of pickles.. ??????? supposed to smear thetahini hummus, few falafel balls, a bit of pickles, more falafel balls with the tahini? Existing menu is non updated, oldergentleman couldn?t find himself online? Table was packed with restaurant stuff instead of accommodating for customers tosit.. My husband, daughter, and I dined at Yalla today, and we each enjoyed a customized bowl. Everything was delicious and perfectly catered to our individual tastes. We highly recommend it, especially their cold-pressed juices. We will definitely be back!

The food was super delicious as usual! A cute place to grab and go. I would recommend dinning in though because the seating isn?t very comfortable. However if you love quick healthy bites this is certainly the place to go! Like if this was helpful!

Absolutely fresh—wow! I can really taste the love, creativity, and energy that went into my bowl. It’s a delightful harmony of flavors, both sweet and savory, with just a touch of salt. The perfect combination; I will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious! Everything is homemade and bursting with flavor. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. It was so good that I wish we lived closer—I would be there every week!
