The presentation of the dishes was impressive, reflecting the effort that went into each one. Every item we tried was perfectly seasoned. One of the highlights was the exceptional customer service. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, frequently checking on us, and we even enjoyed a lovely chat with her. Though we didn't interact much with the rest of the staff, they were all very welcoming, sharing smiles and waves as they passed by. Overall, the experience and the food were nothing short of perfect. If I could, I would gladly give them more than five stars!

We recently just moved back to the Hampton Roads and had to visit our all-time favorite sushi spot. YamaChen just keeps getting better and did not disappoint. We ordered the Fire Shrimp, which was amazing as an appetizer. I had the Candy Cane and Christmas Tree rolls (pictured). My husband had the Dream and Twin Tower rolls. We were both pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. They also gave us complementary egg rolls with our food and delicious cheesecake for a sweet finish. I highly recommend coming here if you haven't already!

YamaChen's is delicious!Service is typically pretty slow and if they're really busy it can take quite a while to get your order but it's worth it.If you join their rewards program you get coupons and save up points to get free rolls or appetizers. So it's worth it.The inside has very neat decor that makes you feel like you're overseas or inside a temple of some kind which adds to the experience.Sushi is very good and they have a ton of flavors and roll options.

Took my family here for lunch after a day at the beach. Wow, reasonably priced rolls, spring rolls on the house, plus little baby cheesecakes for dessert, also on the house. We ordered a certain number of rolls and they combined them in meal deals to reduce the price. Service was friendly and attentive, not overbearing. It's our first time here, but it's an amazing experience. The atmosphere really sets the mood- a nice one, precisely. The menu offers a variety of foods, and the rolls here are spectacular! When we got our order we didn't expect it to be served in a boat lol. The service here is amazing as well!!Overall, I rate this a 5/5!

**Kid-friendliness:** The restaurant plays instrumental piano music, so there’s no need to worry about any inappropriate content for the kids. **Dietary restrictions:** One person in our group is allergic to sesame, which is common in Asian cuisine, and the staff were very attentive in accommodating this dietary need.

THIS IS THE PLACE, LOOK NO FURTHER! The food is delicious and reasonably priced, plus they offer a variety of complimentary dishes. Vicky, our lovely waitress, took excellent care of us—I'd highly recommend requesting her. The atmosphere is fantastic, with beautiful decor to enhance the experience.

This is now my favorite sushi restaurant. The food was outstanding, and the service was excellent as well. If you love sushi, you should definitely give this place a try!
