A search for the oldest public house in London turns up several venerable claimants. But the most authentic may be Ye Olde Mitre, near Chancery Lane tube stop in the Holborn district of central London. It boasts an age of nearly five centuries, established in 1547. That makes it hands down the oldest pub in London. Then again, a slight cavil might be raised that while something like a pub or a tavern probably has been in this spot since Henry VIII, it’s in dispute whether the current building could be that old. But it certainly looks like it might be, as the wee rooms, wood panels and walls of pictures offer exactly what every Anglophile would expect a true British pub to be. If a dictionary...

Apart from that, when we were allowed to sit outside in the gasse in the frame of the reopening of lockdown, I haven't been in the old one for a long time. london pride is a standard in fullers pubs and I thought I had it. No, not available, was told to me. ok, what is similar, I asked. ‘old school’ was proposed. Okay, a brush of it. Five pounds. I tried a ten. No, we don't accept cash. other customers came in and asked for pride. not up, they were said. I also heard someone say it was in the cellar, but they haven't picked it up yet. the oldschool was finished, so I had given the last out of the barrel. it was okay, but drinking, but obviously I didn't want another one. I also heard another...

this is just one of my galleries pubs in london. a real old (really old) pub in london with lots of cuddling and crunching. every time my friend visits, we make sure we stop here at least once. both their Pinot-Grgio and Sauvignan-Bla are really much too easy to drink. the bar staff are pretty mischievous and friendly in a kind of blokey pubby away and I love the fact that the only food they serve is toasties (not count gays and scotch eier, of course.) so British! I'm not the only one who loves it, the place is often busy with people who in the summer are spilling in the small courtyard, although it is one of the best hidden pubs in london.

not long ago we visited ye olde mitre pub a urige olds pub, which was located in the heart of the city of holborn. if I say that this is almost an euphemism, it is well hidden and my advice would be either to go with someone who has already been there or be ready to walk around and in some cases (which I have heard) not to find it. fortunately, I went with someone (me man,) who had already been many times there, who would have missed the entrance easily if he did not believe me! the mitre das pub is located at the ely place, right at the high holborn, but the entrance is only from hatton gardens through a...more Reserva una mesa ahora

another brilliant pub, this time at the center of london, that I looked safe to end. in this case it is likely because the entrance is very inconvenient, and the street to its door is somewhat suspicious. but fear not, below said alley historical imbibing can be found over 500 years in the did. what is more that ye olde continues it is inconspicuous, ale-sold tradition with aplomb. while a small pokey, there is always a good choice of beer and a midday or a crawl to get the drinking hours away. like any respectable tochofsmilbe, this is a solid, empowering choice, guaranteed to induce a taste of the heaven.

I visited here in October as part of a birthday tour around some of London's oldest pubs. A small, quirky pub tucked away down a small alleyway. What a fantastic place, a real piece of old London. The front bar is quite small but cosy, there is outside seating to the front and undercover outside seating to the side and rear. Nice choice of ales on draught and bottle. Well worth a visit, I shall certainly be going back.

A quirky, tiny pub with a big character! Met some work chums here tonight after some lockdown distance. We booked and were in ye closet (shades of Partridge there). Steven and Dean fantastic hosts and the ladies behind the bar fantastic too. I think we are going to book ye closet and move in. Thanks all (loud chatty woman with big bum in black) x

ye olde mitre is really the most hidden gem of a pub in london. probably the oldest and the smallest; still holds its 1546 charme. from a small narrow street from hatton garden Reserva una mesa ahora
