We walked in this evening in hopes of getting a table without reservations, we were pleasantly greeted by the hostess Lindsay who was able to accommodate us despite it being busy. Let me just say this restaurant is like a step back in time. From the stenciling, gorgeous floor boards, the fire places, the antique decor, to its uneven floors and crooked door frames it is stunning. Our server Kiara was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to give recommendations. Not to mention she was sweet and attentive. 5 star service. The food was delicious. Every once and a while, just to amuse ourselves, we increduously scan the reviews of the Ye Olde Tavern. It goes without saying the interior is lovely, and the sevice is adequate, albeit, a bit indifferent. We 've eaten there twice and only returned the second time because we thought that the mediocre food was simply an ananomaly. But our second visit proved that the first was par for the course, and that the praise reviewers lavish on the food is nothing short of hallucinogenic. While the fist meal was merely bad (OK, the lobster bisque was passable but the liver was carborad), our second meal a year later was revolting. My husband and I went to Ye Olde Tavern the night after our wedding. We were thoroughly in awe by the historic space and wonderful atmosphere. Our server Kiera was absolutely amazing, sharing historical anecdotes and being extremely attentive on their very busy night. They serve a special batch of my husbands favorite beer which was such a treat, and all the food was incredible! We were also so happy to see they sold their signature salad dressing to go, which is some of the best we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for excellent service, a historical atmosphere and somewhere cozy and special for an evening dinner, you must go to Ye Olde Tavern :
Last night, we had a truly amazing meal at this restaurant. Our server was friendly and checked in with us after each course. The elk sausage and lobster bisque appetizers were both outstanding. The main courses were cooked perfectly, and the seasonings were unique and delicious. The portions were generous. Additionally, everything was served promptly with no long waits between courses. On Saturday evening, a group of 8 of us went to a restaurant. We were seated at 4:30 and our waitress was Lori. She was amazing. Lori was friendly, polite, and professional. She also had a great sense of humor and was very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing, definitely 5-star quality. I'm so glad Lori left Pizza Hut and joined the Ye Old Tavern family 23 years ago. Thank you, Lori, for a fantastic night! From your friend Mark and the rest of the gang!
This was on my bucket list. Larissa Lindsey were my fabulous attendees while I dined at this glorious establishment. I started with a Mary Pickford cocktail. My entrée were the scallops. OMG they were huge and cooked deliciously. A salad, fritters, vegetables, bread and another cocktail fulfilled my fantasy. Try this for your reasonably priced extravagant dining experience
During our visit to the area, we decided to drop by this restaurant on a Sunday while staying at a nearby resort hotel. We were impressed by the historical charm and cozy atmosphere of the building. The staff was welcoming and the food was delightful. We will definitely return in the future.
