So this place... what a real treat. So it must be said that we have long waited for us to be recognized by the hostess. We were behind two other parties and they also waited, but this place we were looking for, and there is literally nothing for miles and miles and good... So we waited and saw the couple sitting in the front and finally the next. We're on. So the hostess worked her **** in the kitchen and seats. Everybody went around and worked hard. Come to learn them, like all restaurants, had many service personnel call. They're so far out there that they would have called out others at the time to help him that everything was over. So we decided to be patient and use to look around. This...

As always, the Yearling brings it home! I forgot to take pictures half way through our appetizers and meal, but we ordered two of the appetizer combos? gator, frog legs, fried mushrooms, and fried green tomatoes. For our entrees we ordered a burger, catfish sandwich, two orders of venison, escargot, and duck. All were cooked to perfection with nice southern sides such as collard greens, grits and okra. I?ve been to the yearling many times over the years and they are consistently top quality Deep South home cooked meals and the atmosphere can?t be beat! If you would like to experience ?old Florida?, this is the place to go! 100% recommended.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Fl History and is worth seeing the artifacts in yourself, but you want to stay and eat the wonderful food! Our server was super friendly and welcoming. The fish diving for appetizers is perfectly seasoned and portioned. The shrimps fritted for perfection and the catfish roared perfectly and not too much spices or heat. Laid on a plate of cheeses that were creamy and tasty. The tea is delicious and plentiful. No place for a desert. I think I have to try again later. Oh, honey. Lol. I recommend you try this wonderful piece of Florida history.

A very unique and fun dining experience. Restaurant is located in the middle of a quiet, more residential road with cabins for rent in the back. Interior is filled with old books and taxonomy. They do have a small bar area to get drinks if you're there early. We got the following: grouper, gator tail, frog legs, fried pickles, smoked fish dip. The frog legs tasted like chicken and the gator tail like a chewy pork chop. Everything was excellent, service was also attentive and rapid. Will be back again to try more specialties! Great restaurant in the smallest town I've been in yet.....265 people live in Cross Creek, Florida. Had an excellent burger, my friends had the Red Fish and Catfish with Stump Knocker beer!!! We were even lucky enough to have live music while we ate. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was exceptional. They do such a great job that they ran out of most of the appetizers and some of the entrees before we got there on Sunday!! Get there early especially on the weekends.....The place was packed!!

This is a must see simply for the decor and live music. It added up to a unique experience with excellent service and great food. I didn't know I like venison and gator but now I know. We had the venison dinner and the cross creek platter that included gator bites, frog legs and catfish. The portions were great and everything was delicious! Definitely stop in for some good southern cooking and take in the ambiance as a bonus!

This is a wonderful destination. We ate here while in the cabins next door (2021 2022). The decor is amazing like the food. All of duck, venison, shrimp, gator bites, pork chops, salads and do not forget the desserts. Read the book The Yearling and rent a cabin to really get the feeling of the restaurant. And yes, the books are for sale! I made this an annual tradition. A great place!

This place is a step back in time to what Florida was like a century ago. The decor was very interesting. We tried fried frog legs, gator nuggets, shrimp and grits and also fried shrimp platter. Everything was delicious. Our server was very personable and answered our questions about the menu items. Will definitely return! Reserva una mesa ahora

Great Food Alert! Place your order and walk around to see everything on display. Take time to find a book...the dining area is loaded with tons of books that you can purchase to take home. Pose for a picture with the giant alligator center piece. Great menu with something for everyone.
