You Korean Japanese Sushi

They have an extensive sushi menu with a wide variety of options. We tried three different rolls: the Maui Roll, the Yummy Roll, and the Ichiban Roll, and they were all fantastic! I’m usually not a fan of deep-fried rolls, but these were outstanding! Interestingly, the Maui Roll ended up being our favorite, even though I’m not a fan of mango. However, the mango in this roll was a delightful surprise that really made the flavors pop. Some of the rolls were noted as spicy, but they weren’t too hot for me at all; in fact, I could barely taste any spice. This delightful find (actually quite spacious!) was a wonderful surprise for my wife and me when we ended up in O’Fallon for lunch after a doctor's appointment. We anticipated that most local restaurants would be quite busy at that time, but fortunately for us, this place was not crowded at all. We both opted for lunch specials; I had the beef bulgogi and my wife enjoyed some sushi rolls. Our meals were accompanied by a tasty kimchi salad and fermented cucumbers as starters. Everything we had was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were reasonable. I left the area four years ago and was hoping that this restaurant would have improved, but it's just as mediocre as I remember. The bulgogi was very bland, and the rice was dry and didn’t stick together as it should. The selection of side dishes was limited; I only received cucumbers and kimchi. The lunch special was $15 and didn’t even include a drink. I would consider this a "break in case of fire" kind of place—only come here if you're really craving Korean food but don't want to drive an extra 20 minutes to find something better. There are definitely far better options available for the same price or even less.

The atmosphere didn’t help either; it felt uninviting, which is why I have to give it just one star overall. I ordered the beef bulgogi, which was absolutely delicious. My mom sampled it, having ordered the teriyaki chicken, and immediately wished she had chosen the bulgogi instead. The restaurant had plenty of options for those with pickier tastes, like the teriyaki chicken my mom chose and the chicken katsu ordered by my dad and brother. However, I felt sorry for the pickier eaters, as they were missing out on some great flavors. My sister’s sushi looked fantastic, and there were several other menu items that I’m eager to try on my next visit.

We had a fantastic dinner at You Korean Japanese restaurant last night. It was our first time there, and we can't wait to come back the next time we're in the area. We arrived for an early dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, which included the California Roll, Red Dragon Roll, Yummy Roll, Bluefin Tuna nigiri, and Gyoza Soup. Everything was delicious and expertly prepared. The Gyoza Soup has become a new favorite; the broth alone was simply delightful.

The food was amazing, and I left completely full. They also have a small grocery section where you can purchase authentic Korean snacks and ingredients. I couldn't resist trying several of the snacks, and they were all delicious!

The service, food, and everything else here are absolutely outstanding. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. This place is truly one of my top three favorite restaurants in the entire USA!

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is incredibly delicious! The service is quick and warm. It's unfortunate that I live four hours away; I would love to return for karaoke.
