Bumped into an old friend a few weeks ago in Aberystwyth, he was walking his dog out and about, anyway I offered to buy him a drink for old times at Wetherspoons and knowing that Spoons has got a no dogs policy inside we decided to sit on the seats outside. Blow me, after buying a pint we were approached by one of the staff who told us the manager had seen us on the camera and her asked to turn us away and to drink up and leave as there were no dogs allowed on their premises! Fair enough, we drank up and said our farewells. What a great place to get a decent meal at a reasonable price ,we have been in here regularly over the last 2 weeks and have always been pleased with our meals .We have tried an assortment of items from the menu ,the burgers ,the fish and chips ,the 10 chicken wings ,the Katsu curry ,and overall we have been very impressed ,good affordable prices and good sized portions but not too big that it gets wasted .The food is always hot and on hot plates too and we haven't had to wait long for our meals to arrive . We ordered 2 x 'Freedom Breakfasts ' from Wetherspoons, Aberystwyth, this morning. When they arrived both meals were cold and both meals were missing the bacon rashers. We returned the meals and asked for them to be completely replaced with hot meals, and to include the missing bacon rashers, to which the server agreed. However, the meals were returned with the bacon but had not been replaced as requested, the same eggs were still on the plate, now hardened. The breakfasts were mildly warmer than previously but not to a reasonable level. We like our food to be warm but this was a very disappointing meal. We are not encouraged to eat at Wetherspoons again.
I always have a great breakfast at Wetherspoons. My friend and I were staying overnight in Aberystwyth and she has always been reticent to visit a Wetherspoons. But because of my recommendation we decided to have our breakfast at this venue. We both opted for the full breakfast. Every item on my plate was luke warm and the plates hadn't been warmed a must for cooked breakfasts. As we were in a bit of a hurry we didn't have time to complain and ask for a hotter breakfast. We called in this Witherspoon’s restaurant for lunch and I wished we had gone elsewhere it was horrendous, there were 2 items missing of the one plate and 1 missing of the other !! We all know Witherspoon’s is cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for ……..but this was bad, not only poor quality food but portion size and presentation . If you cannot get the food right just stick to selling beer !! Someone as taken there eye of the ball in the kitchen.
We decided that we would treat ourselves to the Turkey Christmas meal as we won't be having Turkey on Christmas day . It was really nice ,looked just as it did on the front of the menu and was so tasty and hot , there was plenty of Turkey on the plate and the apricot and cranberry stuffing was superb . We are so glad we decided to treat ourselves .
Arrived in Aberystwyth after travelling from Pwllheli on the Cambrian Line. In need of food and drink. There at the end of the platform is a Wetherspoons. Quite busy but found table and ordered drinks and food via app. Fish and Chips and a pint for less than £10. Can’t go wrong. Waitress cheerful and cleared table when we had finished our food
Yes it’s been bitterly cold recently.. but this pub needs to sort its heating out .. breakfast cold and flavourless.. and toast not toasted.. poor management.. no excuses .. really disappointing!

We enjoyed a couple of visits when on holiday last year but once was enough this year. The very unpleasant sour smell and very sticky floor put us off making more than one visit.
If you like a cold to warm breakfast this is the place to come . Tried them previously and the same problem. Gave them another chance but worse . Cold soft hash browns ugh
