Zaitun - Reserva de mesa

Wonderful restaurant that advertised Cartagena perfectly. Located in the walled city center, my brother and I stopped for dinner on June 5th 2017. The guy playing guitar gave it a great ambience, the food was great and the waiters patiently explained what we didn't understand about the menu. The young lady who appeared to be a manager or owner checked on guests and made sure we were ok. Portions were good, food tasty and we didn't have to wait forever for our food. Each guest was greeted and bade farewell so pleasantly, it made you want to run to TripAdvisor and write a reviewGo and eat there, you'll be glad you did.

It has been a lot of unfortunate coincidences (a bit late in the afternoon, water shortage in the whole city and also in the restaurant, the restaurant we had chosen was full and this one was empty even though the good reviews) but I am not sure all this justify the bad food (tasting was really bad!!). If by any chance you decide to come do not order the beef with almonds and eggplant!! Service was friendly and attentive, but not enough to justify a visit....

We ordered a chicken dish and a salmon dish, both came with the same baked potato and Asian vegetable mix, which definitely cheapened the feel of the restaurant and experience. The waiters also seemed a bit arrogant, and continued to speak to us very quickly in Spanish, even though it was clear our Spanish was very basic. Slightly overpriced for the quality and taste of the meal.

This restaurant can get seriously noisy if there is a large group in party mode as was the case when we dined there. My salad main was bland and when asked if my unfinished plate was ok, I explained that it lacked flavour. I was disappointed to see that I was charged the full amount for what for me was an inedible dish. Reserva una mesa ahora

El menú es variado. Todos los platos que pedimos estaban bien, pero no excepcionales: yogur libanés, hummus, ceviche, falafel, salmón a la parrilla ... Por otro lado, el servicio es interminable. Para el almuerzo, pasamos más de 2h30 en la mesa. Así que evite si tiene prisa y un poco caro dado el beneficio.

We felt like we lucked out when we chose Zaitun for lunch. It was time to get out of the sun and heat. This place was cool and quiet with an extensive menu. We shared our food amoung the 4 of us, and I enjoyed every bite
