I was so disappointed in our meal. The service was terrible--we waited over an hour to be served our entrees, even though I asked several times about it. Our server gave us our drinks and salad after waiting about 1/2 an hour, then disappeared. The wait staff was completely overworked we constantly had different servers. No one ever asked us how we were doing or if we needed anything (including refills on our overpriced drinks). The food was mediocre at best, and the noise level was really unpleasant. Too bad--I really liked this place when I was last there several years ago. I'll not return.
Our meals were delicious, very flavorful. Our server was very friendly and helpful in choosing great meals for us- we asked her for suggestions after giving her items we were interested in. We were seated right away, order taken right away. The one piece that felt off and disappointing was our drink order which we placed at the start of our ordering, didn't arrive until we were almost done with our entire meal, which also included hors d'ouevres. Maybe they were short staffed at the bar on our visit? Overall, we enjoyed our visit and I would recommend eating there.
The food at Zaytoon was fantastic! We had the calamari, mezza platter, Brussels sprouts, chicken kebab, and shrimp with scallop kebab, and everything was incredibly delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by how moist the chicken was, especially since it was chicken breast. It really impressed me. I do enjoy a good cocktail, but I wasn't thrilled with the one I ordered (I only tried one). It was a bit too sweet for my liking, but then again, I'm not a fan of sweet cocktails. I would definitely come back for the food! The service was also excellent.
Although the server was wonderful and attentive, all four of us found the food to be bland and lacking in flavor. One person in our group even had to reach for hot sauce just to make his chicken dish edible. We were all disappointed, especially our friends who had just returned to Berkeley after being away for a long time. What a letdown!

We had reservations...checking person seemed annoyed by us asking for specific table. Service started out super slow-not sure if they were not rushing us or super busy. It got better. Service person very friendly and nice.
A great neighborhood place to enjoy good food! My Kbob was delicious served with couscous and grilled squash...my daughter had salad with chicken...reasonable and good service. Go and savor the flavors.
We loved our server and the food was tasty but served way too hot. It’s crowded and loud on a weekend night but friendly! I’d definitely go back. I prefer more béchamel on my moussaka.
Absolutely delicious! The kebabs are fantastic, and you definitely shouldn't miss the baklava dessert, especially with the ice cream and caramel sauce on top.
