Zebra Cafe - Reserva de mesa

The first time we visited the cafe, it had a novel menu and there was a choice of food, but that seems to have stopped now and there is just one main course and sadly on the day I went the curry was like school dinners. I hate chocolate puddings, so it was a loser before it even came out. The Tea and Coffee choices were good, but it's got no identity, like it had the first time. I feel desperately sorry for the owner as I know she really tries hard and is always friendly. Sadly it's lost its sparkle, it can't be a typical French bar/cafe /restaurant. I liked the South African themed food and a little more choice is essential. I really want it to be a success, but you do need to be individual...

I was looking for a quick coffee and croissant in Sourdeval, cycling toward Vire. I had rehearsed my French phrases but was answered in a friendly English by Olivia? She said they weren't serving food until later in the season but that I could buy something from the boulangerie just next door and eat it in the restaurant. Another customer also English, held up his boulangerie bag and said that was what everyone did there. I stayed for about half an hour and the conversation (mostly in English) created a great atmosphere. I'd certainly reccommend this cafe to anyone English or French speaking.

The welcome from Olivia and Martyn (waitress owner and chef) was the best. A coffee served outside and said we would be back around 1.30 for lunch. Walked around Sourdeval which has loads of bars, restaurants cafes but only 1 or 2 open and they didnt seem to have any customers. We returned to Zebra at about 1.15 and it was packed with a good mix of English and french customers. A good lunch menu available, 3 course for 11.50 Euros, Cooked well and served with pleasure. They also put their menu on the Zebra FB page. A very enjoyable visit. We will return.

Well the cafe has been new management and it's alive. The two female staff who seem to run the place are amazing. Full of life and just what the place needed. They are so friendly and helpful. I asked for a salad which wasn't on the menu and another occasion they gave me the quiche as a main course and all with a smile . The proof of their success is the fact that it's patronised by the locals and not just English and shows how things have improved Thanks for a nice meal will be back every time I come home to France Reserva una mesa ahora

Previously i had concerns that the little restaurant had lost its heart, but it seems that things are changing, more choice at lunch and dinner and community events. Lets hope that people patronise the premises, as the owner works so hard and is so friendly. it would be such a shame for the cafe, to fail as its lovely to have somewhere different.

A real find. The weather was cold and miserable (end of January 2017 and it was below zero). Needed somewhere to sort ourselves out after numerous viewings and this place was a gem of a find. Warm, friendly and welcoming. The coffee and tea were excellent. So good we made a couple or return trips.

today again visit the zebra. nice and friendly service. service was good. the gastronomic operation is clean and well maintained. the coffee was tastefully served in order and nice.From us highly recommended.

It's a great shame, but the Zebra-themed resto and bar has closed definitively. According to a notice on the door it will open under new management, but so far there's not much sign of life. Reserva una mesa ahora

meals with colleagues on several occasions. good cuisine, varied and of quality I recommend to all, family, meals with colleagues!

a good mix of French and English customers.The food is superb and staff friendly. God value for money also.
