A very different, but enjoyable, experience! After checking in at the reception downstairs for our cinema/meal booking by phone, we were told to go upstairs (where the cinema was located) and check in again. The person upstairs we were to see had a queue of customers waiting to buy drinks and nibbles. The showing of the film was imminent. When we finally saw her we were told to go straight into Cinema One . Apparently we didn 't need to 'check in ' with her as we were on their system. Could the receptionist we first saw not have told us that? That saying, wonderful service by the all in the restaurant. Food, decor and ambience was spot-on. After having a bad meal and experience at a different restaurant in Ambleside, we were delighted by this place. We decided to stop in for a quick drink before heading back to our car and were impressed with the excellent and quick service. The staff was polite and the drinks and cakes were excellent. The toilets were also very clean and pleasant. We will definitely be recommending this place to our friends and will be returning in the future.
Not realising this was a vegetarian restaurant I was pleasantly surprised, I opted for the spaghetti bolognese, seeing it was lentils instead of meat I was unsure if I’d like it but the flavour was unreal, I also had garlic bread which is the nicest I’ve had. The staff were really pleasant and the restaurant itself is stunning, would definitely go again.
We have visited Zeffirellis in Ambleside many times over the years and this return visit was as good as the first. Prompt, polite service and good honest veg cooking made for a lovely meal. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and very clean and organised. If your in Ambleside its a must : ... maybe a nut parmo to the menu soon ;

I can wholeheartedly recommend Zeffirellis. Not only do they have good pizza additionally the personnel is very friendly, and from the speakers you hear excellent jazz music (not bar music , but real jazz). And the room has a cozy atmosphere. So nice to take a break there when you come to Ambleside!
Stopped by at Zeffirellis for a drink and some snacks while visiting Ambleside. Tasty food and friendly service. We sat outside during the heat wave and had a great view of some jets flying by. Food was so good we had dessert too, highly recommended!
We didn't have a reservation as our stay was unexpected due to snow. We stumbled upon this restaurant and were grateful it was open, as many others were closed by 4pm on a Sunday. The food was delicious and we all left satisfied. Thank you.
On a rainy day and unexpected change of plans, we found the perfect solution with this restaurant cinema combo. The atmosphere and staff were delightful. We will definitely be returning!

We have just had a lovely 2 course meal here on Saturday evening along with afternoon drinks on the terrace. The food was delicious and the staff were all so friendly and helpful.
Brilliant vegetarian restaurant! Lovely atmosphere, excellent manu.
