My family and I have been going to Zen Cha for 4-5 years now. The positives: The food is absolutely fantastic, (tea is unmatched) and the atmosphere is wonderful as well. Although I can chalk up one poor service experience to nothing more than it happens But this time it was really bad. Our waitress served our food and came back one time to check on us which was nice. But then we were abandoned for 30+ minutes before I had to ask another person to help check us out. Our waitress went a took her break instead of finishing and helping us pay. Tucked away on Main Street, this is a very cute little cafe. They have dozens of teas and they do a great job describing and recommending them. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy but we were seated right away. I went with the vanilla chai iced and it was very tasty but still came cold in a mug rather than with ice. For food I went with the spinach Parmesan quiche. It came with a side salad and potatoes. The salad was sooo good. The ginger dressing was amazing. The quiche was very good as well. Cozy, warm and welcoming atmosphere here af ZenCha- we loved every minute of our time and every bite of our food. Not to mention the wide selection of tea from around the world added extra enlightening vibe. Ordered Middle Eastern Cardamon Ginger Tea and Spicy Yaki Udon for myself. Both had plenty of flavor that truly distinguished this restaurant from others around. The noodle had good aroma, perfect blend of spices, portion of veggies and protein. The tea was soothing yet really awakening. Loved everything about the this place. Highly recommend for someone looking to explore a different cuisine setting in Columbus area.
I went to the one in Short North and we got sick on the food afterwards so I was apprehensive to go to this one for a girls chat. I was pleasantly surprised. Though the ambiance was the same, the service was better despite the new person mixing up our tea order. It was quickly resolved and I enjoyed my japanese pancake while my friend enjoyed her curry dish and bought tea for her coworker. I miss true Asian tea houses and David's Tea from my city roots but this will suffice for now.
A hidden gem in Bexley. We had been for lunch/brunch but not for dinner. Our bad! Quiet Thursday night. Our table mates were veteran ZenCha customers, so we ordered what they ordered. Moroccan Spiced Salmon with salad and salad with chicken. Both were excellent. Really good, especially the salmon.....and the salad! Attentive service was a plus. ZenCha will be on our local rotation!! There is parking in the back of the building in addition to sparse street parking.
Their Okonomiyaki is incredibly good. I've had ZenCha's food from both dining in and via Doordash, and both experiences were excellent. The food tastes great every time and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. I'm not even a big tea person, but I really enjoyed trying out their drinks.
