We had a birthday celebration with the family. The seven of us sat at a table beautifully decorated. Being seniors we chose the 4-course dinner and omitted the cheese. After starting off with a regional Schaumwein served with an amuse-bouche (goat cheese with sausage and Schüttelbrot) we had a fresh salad with a poached egg, then a delicious pea-mint soup with small tasty meatballs carefully prepared, and as the main course, slices of beef-fillet with herb-butter and home-made vegetable-noodles. I rarely had such tender and tasty beef. The Marchese di Villamarina was the perfect Italian red wine eliciting compliments from everybody.
