My husband and I tried this place on a Saturday night. The decor is very nice, and the place has a great atmosphere. We started with an appetizer of mushrooms baked in beer dough. It was good and piping hot. For mains we both had Zuricher Schnitzel, which was topped with cooked tomatoes and onions and covered with baked mozzarella and sauces. The schnitzel itself wasn't very tender, but the flavor was very nice. Our meal also came with fries, salad, and homemade bread. The portions were huge.This restaurant seemed very popular with the 50 crowd, and would be a great place for a birthday or family dinner. The fillet steak was of excellent quality, and also the vegetarian alternatives (Salat as the main food) were, according to my wife, the best that she ever had in a restaurant.The service was always friendly and attentive despite the full-occupied restaurant; no trace of hectic.price/performance more than appropriate. Rightly 5 stars and incentive enough to come back in time. Wen you are near Bocholt, it is easy to find the village of Dorsten. At a very nice spot you'll find this beautiful Gasthof. A terrace under old trees and a beautiful view on the small lake. Thomas takes his time to prepare wonderful dishes but also to great his visitors personally. The quality of the food and the effort to present it makes this place worth a visit. The prices are a bit higher then average in Germany, but the food and entourage compensate for this.

Volle Punktzahl. Waren heute mit 5 Paaren und Kindern zu Abend. Service sehr zügig, top organisiert, sehr höflich und aufmerksam. We have eaten here several times and have always been very satisfied. The reception and service were very professional and quick. The menu always shows seasonal dishes and the classics. We were welcomed very nicely and friendly,who brought to the table and then got the cards. Even our little one got his own card.Nextly came the food and the portions were good. It has tasted very well and also the beverage service left no wishes open.We like to come back and can only recommend it.
