I was there in July 2017. I was there earlier in 2015. In 2015, i ate at the bar inside since there were no seats outside, and the inside is very old and quite fascinating. I had the steak that was chewy but delicious. This month in 2017 i had the steak again. It was still too chewy, but this time it was not that good. My wife had the sauerbraten that she loved. They do have an English menu, and the waitress serving spoke beautiful English (she had lived in Canada for 6 months) and was very delightful. You should definitely eat here and enjoy the atmosphere of old Germany, but steer clear of the Rumpsteak.
We wanted to eat outside, but I think we were lucky as it was 25 degrees and there weren't any tables. Inside was lovely; a really old very atmospheric bar,it looked 400 years old! Maybe it was. Pretty standard German pub food menu; I had Saeurbraten and my wife a shnitzel. Both very good, something German chef's do very well. Service was good, food arrived pretty quickly, considering how busy they were. I'd recommend the place!
Dieses traditionsreiche Gasthaus ist einen Besuch wert. Selten haben wir so schmackhafte Steaks gegessen, die perfekt auf die individuellen Garwünsche zubereitet waren. Und das zu einem absolut fairen Preis. Das schöne Ambiente und der sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Service machten den Aufenthalt zu einem 'highlight' unserer 3-tägigen Lahn-Radtour.
Wie waren relativ spontan sonntags dort essen. Die Karte ist klein aber fein, bereits im Internet einzusehen. Die Preise sind moderat.Die Gerichte waren kreativ angerichtet und haben sehr lecker geschmeckt.Gerade für Touristen ist das Lokal sehenswert, da es ein altes Fachwerkhaus ist und eigentlich eine Limburger Institution mittlerweile ist.

Wir waren heute im Burgkeller essen. Das Schnitzel war an sich in Ordnung für 9,80€. Jedoch waren meine Pommes zum Großteil steinhart frittiert, dass ich sie nicht aufspießen konnte. Das Essen war nichts besonderes, aber essbar!
Nice place in the old city of limburg. Snitzel are excellent. Menu not very diversified but many typical German dish. Nice place just for a drink as well. Staff very professional and friendly
Very traditional menu but all the better for it. This restaurant knows what it does, and does it well. Service was great too. Portions generous and prices very reasonable
Preis-Leistung ist in Ordnung, Service ist zuvorkommend. So wie man eben ein Bierkeller erwartet. Mein Schnitzel und Salat war in Ordnung.

Es war sehr lecker und gut. Top Steaks. Einziger kleiner Punkt, bei größeren Gruppen ist es etwas beengt.Kein Grund nicht hinzugehen
