Went there because of Tripadvisor. Nice place, did not regret it. Excellent beer, also tried the apple wine (local speciality, you have to ask for it). Food is OK. I guess it is first because being in the center and provides nice atmosphere with good beer and acceptable food for reasonable prices. But food cannot compare with Heiligenstadt restaurant or Tandreas. (Both of which are of course in another price range). Just that you know. I tried all of them in the same week I spent in Giessen.

The food is great, the beer tasty, the personnel fast and friendly. I found it by chance, it was full, so I only got a place at the bar. Had a great dinner, nice chats with locals and all in all a great evening. A must go.

This place offers many old-fashioned regional dishes found practically nowhere else. The atmosphere is very cozy, lots of dark wood, very friendly staff, perfect in summer and in winter!

The meal we ordered was not oK, not fresh, not hot and no regrets from the waiter and the chef, not even an apologize

The food was amazing and real homemade food. The food tasted just like I was taught to by my German gran.
